Think Koulibaly's treatment here is harsh, he's easily been one of the best CBs in the world for a long time - even if he is 31 he'll be at his top level for another 4/5 seasons provided he doesn't get a horrible injury - to get him in at between 30-40 is actually decent business.

It is all entirely based on one tweet made by Fab Romano which stated his salary will be €10m net, or in other words, 10m after taxes. €10m/52weeks = ~€193k/week (x- .45x) = 193k, where x is his gross salary and the .45 is the tax rate in England for footballers. When you solve that equation for x you get x(1-.45)=193,000 x = 193,000/.55 = €350k/week salary before taxes…which even if that is the case signing a world class defender arguably top 5 in the world for years now makes this deal worth every penny. Especially when you are chelsea that are desperate for CB signings.

€40m euros, 10m euros net in salary so like €18m per year when you include a 45% tax rate in England. So €18m for 4 years is €72m + €40m = €112m for the entire deal….but that’s not the point. Koulibally is one of the top 5 CBs in the world and he is exactly what chelsea needed. A perfect signing, the arsenal fan in the show is just salty even now that Abrahmovic is gone arsenal will still not overtake Chelsea.

We got 3rd pretty comfortably, got to both cup finals, and didn't get to the CL semifinals because Real Madrid was the king of miracles this season.

Matheus Nunes is definitely better than Fábio Vieira rn and definitely worth the price, he is elite at progressing the ball with his dribbling and for a center midfield in terms speed, stamina, strength he is elite at all those, he is a good passer not great tho and defensively his numbers are underwhelming because he plays in a really ball dominant side and he played alongside Palhinha and Ugarte who were both more tasked with recovering the ball he was more of a presser... I loved Rudi, I respect his right to move/the way he went about it. However with Kalidou, we’re getting a player that has yearssss on Antonio. We’re getting one of Europe’s most elite and experienced CB’s that until recently was talked about alongside the VVD’s.
