Just here to remind you, that height doesn't matter - jumping reach does (and arial reach for goalies). If you don't know the jumping reach and strength, height and weight are decent indicators, but they don't tell the whole story.
@shacozzi48889 ай бұрын
true, but I usually take height into account for he immersion. Makes no sense that a 165cm player with 18 jumping reach will beat a 205 cm player with 14 jumping reach.
@LiftandCoa9 ай бұрын
Nah, untrue, hight matters. Same jumping reach and different height means different results. Even with a jumping stat of 20 Messi will never score as many headers or win as many duels as a (physically) "normal" striker with 20 JR.
@DetBareMikkel9 ай бұрын
@@LiftandCoa Jumping reach indicates how high the player can get their head. Not how far their feet is from the ground. Height almost always impact and indicate whether or not a player has high jumping reach though. But a 5ft player with 20 jumping reach will be able to reach higher than a 7ft player with 15 jumping reach. Granted, smaller players almost never have a high jumping reach and as such height can be used as a decent indicator, but, again, it doesn't tell the whole story.
@MatthaisUK9 ай бұрын
@@LiftandCoa To echo Tarda, that's why the stats called "Jumping Reach" rather than just "Jumping". The reach tells you it's based on from the ground, not relative to their height.
@LiftandCoa9 ай бұрын
@@DetBareMikkelYeah, 20 JE and 15 JE are not the same. But using this doesnt mean only JE matters. As i explained, different heights and same jumping reach leads to different results. Just try it out. You can see it in the games data. Have you purposefully ignored that or what?

Oh man I would have loved to see your reaction to my Peruvian giant. He is 201cm tall striker with 20 Jumping reach, 18 Heading and 17 Strength. Pretty good technique (16) and anticipation (17), but only 10 Bravery, Aggression and Work rate. He scores and assists a lot, but I feel like he should be scoring way more, especially headers. He also only has Finishing (13) and Long shots (11). I believe his low bravery and aggression is preventing him from doing so... He is by far my most favourite newgen I have ever had in FM!

FYI Height and Weight are purely cosmetic stats in Football Manager and have no impact on player performance in the match engine. This was confirmed by game director, Miles Jacobson, a while back.
@IRTACO_039 ай бұрын
It does impact training tho, Jumping reach and strength respectively
@bigrandomun92679 ай бұрын
That’s a lie though. I had Kyle Hudlin in FM22 just for the fact that he was abnormally strong, tall and good at headers for his price and ability. The dude out jumped Van Dijk when I played vs Liverpool and scored 2 headers, both from wide crosses. It absolutely has an effect because if Hudlin isn’t 6’7+ and 100KG+, he’s getting flattened in duels with VVD.
@aravind4432169 ай бұрын
As far as I understand, height is already factored in the jumping reach attribute. So it does have an effect.
@KRS_two9 ай бұрын
You calling the guy who made the game a liar? Miles revealed this himself. A few years into a save, you will get small regens who have high jumping reach and heading ability but with current players in the database, the tall ones will generally have a correlation between height and jumping reach. The match engine uses a lot of numbers to generate outcomes, but height and weight do not factor in at all. It's only the jumping reach stat, heading ability and strength that affects aerial prowess, same for goalkeepers but swap out heading for aerial reach@@bigrandomun9267
@nummer33579 ай бұрын
Jumping reach is determined by the height. Obviously there is a range since every 185 cm player doesn't have the same jumping reach number but the height is what's deciding whether that range is 1-5 or 16-20.
