I didn't know the song....at first I thought it definitely started with a loooong tom fill.....but the cool tom fills came later in the song..... beautifully soulfully drummed, Earl ... great job my friend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥁🥁

Silk Degrees is great. I think I wore out my eight track tape in my car listening to it!!!! I still play many songs from that album today on the drums. Absolutely love it. Great job brother!!!! 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅

Oh Earl! A beautiful job with one of Boz’s most beautiful songs. Thank you very much. Silk Degrees is a top favorite album and this and Harbor Lights my favorite slow songs. Just wonderful. I’ve been missing, sorry. Distracted by a cute blonde. It happens. Joe Edit: Oh and wow! A Monster Set ❤! OMG! Hal is looking down and smiling. I got all excited when the blonde wonder just got a U87. What’s old is new again. Bringing back Carpenters one element at a time.

@@earldrum I found you initially because of the Carpenters covers. ❤️ With the Monster Set have you redone some of the Hal songs? I’ll take a look. Also Tori and her new U87, oh my, I can hear a difference. It’s Impossible and the short Sam are the first two to use it. Her velvet voice is now VELVETIER. Hmmmm. Take her recent Something In Your Eyes (Studio Version) {not U87} which is just voice(s) and piano (and awesome) and add a gentle Monster Set drum accompaniment? Would that work or make it unbalanced?

I have recorded lots of Hal Blaine songs with the monster kit! One of the most interesting things I have discovered about Carpenters songs is the amount of songs recorded by Jim Gordon and other great session drummers. @@earldrum Hi Earl, if memory serves, Hal’s last song was Jambalaya and it was already done and inserted into Now and Then. Karen did all the other drumming on that album. Hal said something to the effect of; if you want to hear the Monster Set in action, listen to my work on Carpenters. To me the masterpiece was Indian Reservation by The Raiders, which you covered. Jim Gordon, what a tragedy, on track to be the next Hal Blaine. Here’s the missing Carpenters song; Something In Your Eyes by Tori Holub. @@jbs256 it’s a very beautiful song. I wouldn’t want to record my drums over this very beautiful track without drums. I’m wondering if there is a Carpenters demo or master of this song with drums. Jim Gordon was very much recorded like Hal was and played on hundreds of hit records. Jim doesn’t get the accolades he deserves. I did a cover of Indian Reservation last year!

Boy, that monster set is the perfect tool to handle this one, Hammer. I don’t think I will ever get tired of those tomtastic tidbits of tomfoolery you create from that set. Yea, but it’s a 2002! 😂😂😂😂😂 thanks for the feedback Jeff! Biz wrote the song and played on the silk digress album and Rita Coolidge made it a hit song!
