I am in TX and Bucees is about 5 miles from my house. It's like a Disneyland for the neighborhood. Great food, snacks, bakery stuff etc., etc. as well as house decorations , clothes. It's a great way to browse and buy. HA,HA.

Yea!!! What a Great walkabout, so laid back and Kona was really into it! It was awesome how you showed us all of the Very neat architecture and old buildings. The Fort was awesome and the Distillery was cool. You had perfect weather for the trip. Enjoyed every minute! Thanks for taking us along!

I found this: In 1885, construction started at the Hotel Ponce de Leon and finished in just 18 months. The Ponce official opened January 12, 1888. It was a seasonal hotel opening only from January to Easter. There were approximately 450 hotel rooms, and it cost $4,000 to stay for the entire season. Guests were required to pay to stay for the entire season, whether they stayed that long or not. In 1968, the former Hotel Ponce de Leon opened as the centerpiece to Flagler College. Flagler College used to be a hotel called the Ponce De Leon Hotel. It was a luxury hotel that was built in 1885 by Henry Flagler, and construction only took 18 months. This is a little sample of the kind of hotel that it was... The area that is now used as Flagler College's dining hall has 40 Tiffany Stained glass windows.

Ive been on a few tours in St Augustine, Im pretty sure I remember them saying it use to be a hotel a long time ago before they turned it into a college. Its haunted, so is the bathroom in the Harry's restaurant.

Flagler College used to be Henry Flagler’s hotel that he built along with many other hotels. He was a monopoly of the area and even built the railroads. The hotel was the first hotel to have electricity available for all of the guests. It’s really beautiful on the inside and you should take a tour of it when it opens up after covid dies down. Look up pictures of the dining hall and the lobby, you’ll be shocked !! I lived in that tower you walked by as a freshman :)

Ghost Adventures did an episode at that Fort it is definitely haunted. Fox Nation did a special on that Fort and its place in American history, one of my ancestors worked at that Fort in the 1700s.

I live in Jacksonville which is 30-45 mins away from St. Augustine. Took several school and personal trips there throughout the years. I also drive through there every Thursday for work. Next time, do the fort tour. You can see and go into the room that they found 2 bodies bricked into. Rumor is it was one of the fort commander's wife and her lover. The commander's 1st officer.
