So because Dany has been through a lot she deserves to burn innocent people? So many characters have been through a lot and they ain’t burnin babies. Stannis burned his daughter (a child), we didn’t like that and we’re ok with him dying. But bc these ppl don’t have names then it’s ok? Wtf?? They think she had no other choice? Huh? After burning the scorpions / outer defenses she could’ve flown up to the Red Keep and burned that. Leave the rest of the city alive. Y’all are so disappointing in your view of things.

Remember during the long night, Jon, Sam, and Ed were on the ramparts. They said that they were the last of the nights Watch. The rest were killed. They have no need for the nights Watch any longer. The night king was destroyed. Grey Worm doesn't know that. Jon does not want to rule. Bran set him free.

Daenerys: "I will burn cities to the ground." She's said this since season two REPEATEDLY. She was a vengeful Targaryen like most Targaryens. Many fans lose sight of this. I felt the same way about Danaerys's portrayal the first time I saw it. On rewatching it, though, I realized that even back in Essos, she was killing folks and asking questions later. @@elijahbrooks1472 hints and foreshadowing don't count as character development also even if there were no hints at all most people expected Dany would become a tyrant because thats obviously what a writer like GRRM would do and the showrunners were given a run down of his ideas for the book ending and it would actually be surprising if she did turn out to be a benevolent queen honestly. The problem is it was not written well in the show and it fucking sucks, it's like if Walter White just became Heisenberg after 3 episodes and a couple hints.

⚜️ This is hands down the worst reaction and interpretation of this finale I've ever seen/heard of. I feel like Mair & Sophie were told repeatedly that S8 was awful and poorly written and to expect to hate S8, so they performed this reaction accordingly. They seem to think S8 was hated because everyone was a Dany-stan and that we wanted to see her on the throne no matter what she did, so they've performed their reaction from this point of view. They completely failed to understand the actual reasons for the well-deserved criticism because they were focused on performing a certain way for this last reaction. Dany becoming the Mad-Queen is how the show was always supposed to end, but the writing/directing/acting was awful and rushed. No one in their right mind would support someone like Dany on the throne after what she did murdering 1000's/10000's of innocent King's Landing civilians. These two are perfect examples of how charismatic yet murderous dictators come to power and stay there.

Dany was wrong if you don’t agree fine but talk about the show don’t chastise us the fans for our opinion. I was much more invested than you because I watched from episode one in 2011 and we waited for 2 years for season 8 alone. We loved Dany as well but once we saw how her stances are opposed to like characters we spent years watching grow like Sansa Arya Jon Tyrion, Sorry but Dany can go. Yeah the show messed up big time by making characters either good or bad. Dany was set up as a saviour and wise and kind and boss babe for the most part, in the books she is sometimes a brat and a dumb teenager who makes dumb decisions. Tyrion is actually a very grey character. In the books he has good moments like his genuine friendship with Jon and his sympathy for the underdog but he is spiteful and has a cruel streak too. I feel like he is going to manipulate Dany into burning down kings landing by the end. Dany always had signs of madness though even in the show. They could have developed this a bit better. However I get how lots of people felt like her madness came out of left field because they set her up as boss babe and saviour too much, they overdid it.

The story and ending was planned from the beginning. Daenerys goes crazy and does what her father, the Mad King, couldn't (burn them all). Daenerys lost her allies, then her first dragon, then she lost half of her army, then she lost the second dragon, then she saw her friend executed before her eyes, then she lost her eligibility for the Iron throne all that in short time. Those in charge of the series rushed fast to end the series, so the viewer could not accept the battle of the of the Night king and the madness of Daenerys in only 6 episodes.

Then he tried to poison her again so so she executed him. She got betrayed by her hand that suddenly became the dumbest person. She got betrayed by Sansa who without Daenarys would be dead and no Winterfell to rule. Arya would have been dead before she got a chance to kill the Night King. Her only true allies were Jorah, Greyworm and Daario. Tyrion is the reason she lost her other two allies in Olena and Ellaria Sand. Team Daenarys till the end.

So y'all were ok with Dany committing genocide??? Burning and killing innocent people in Kingslanding like her "Mad king" father was gonna do??? Y'all needed to pay attention from the beginning when it came to Daenerys Targaryen! Season 1: She becomes totally fine with being Khaleesi to a genocidal, rapacious, savage Khalasar, who raided and destroyed a peaceful village to steal gold for ships to sail to Westoros! She takes up her brother Viserys obsession to rule at any cost! Season 2: Dany quote: "When my dragons are fully grown....we will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground!" season 4: Orders 163 Great Masters crucified, including Hizdahr ZoLoraq's father who was against crucifying the 163 slaves, disreguarding Barriston Selmey's advice to be merciful! Season 5: Dany was willing to give a Harpy a fair trial for murder, but executed a loyal ex-slave for the same crime against the Harpy with no trail! Rounds up 8 leaders of Meereen and indiscriminately has one burned and eaten alive by her dragons to try to root out the Sons of the Harpy! Season 6: Dany declares plans to return cities to the dirt, but is persuaded not to by Tyrion! Season 7:After being reminded by Jon and Tyrion, not to simply burn her enemies, after soundly defeating the Lannister army, Dany declares "I'm not here to murder!" "That's Cercei!" "But bend the knee or die!" Then proceeds to burn the Tarly's alive, despite Tyrion trying to talk her out of it! And here we are in season 8: Dany quote: "I'm not going to be the Queen of ashes!" Then proceeds to genocide after the bells were rung, signaling the city has surrendered! Jon was the Prince that was promised by putting the dagger in her heart and freeing the land of a would be dictator! Yes, the writing was SHITE!!! But don't be mad because Dany died, be mad because the writers got lazy and rushed the ending! If y'all payed attention, Dany was going Mad Queen all along! George RR Martin (The creator) Gave Benioff & Weiss (The show writers) how it will end! They just didn't executed properly!

OMG. How-aboutism doesn’t work. lol. Dany has been executing people since she killed the witch. Everything that happened drove her mad. Nothing excuses killing tens of thousands of innocent people. You two dummies are so blind and unable to admit the truth because you don’t or can’t admit you’re wrong is hilarious. Mare and his body language says it all. He says anything he can to justify that slaughter even though if he were one of the innocents killed he would change his tune in an instant. Dany needed to die, unfortunately. She would have gone on to kill the world because no one could convince her she was doing wrong. I hated that Dany went mad, but it’s not out of character for that to happen to a Targaryen. Hate the writing if you like, but she went mad. Period. That’s how it was written. You two doubled down on a lame, losing argument. But, you’ll blame everyone else and never admit the truth because you live off emotion and not rationale. Your feelings don’t matter when you’re wrong. But, you say you’re right, and you’ll defend it to the end, even if everyone else disagrees. You’re right and everyone else is wrong. Step out of your hurt feelings and grow up.

The way you two reacted to this episode genuinely disturbed me. It's one thing to criticise the writing of the show, but to repeatedly justify mass genocide simply because you're too stubborn to acknowledge the VERY clear arc of Dany's entire character is beyond me. She has been power-hungry and self-righteous ever since she began her hunt for the Iron Throne, and she's been toeing the line between sanity and madness ever since she lost Drogo. It's safe to say i'm disappointed, at the least. Also, by the end of the show Sansa became everything Dany wasn't, she strived for peace for her own people, and minded her own damn business. She was not chasing the throne.

If you thought Jon or Daenery's were gonna be on the throne you really didnt pay attention to what kind of show this was. Even if this was not rushed it was clear and author said that im not giving you a happy ending im gonna show you guys realism thats based on history. Guys i get the disappointment and anger and the anticlimactic nature of it especially Daenery's death hell i dont even blame you for thinking that Daenery's character is ruined (its not) it just behaves that way because the showrunner RUSHED her tragic descent as the Mad Queen which has been peppered with foreshadowing all series long as a complete PLAUSIBLE and rationale ending to her story but again it was so rushed like everything else in season 8 it comes across as a slap in the face. Daenery's became a dictator, she became hypocrite. Her obsession for justice or righteous justice due to the injustice she and her family suffered eroded her humanity. Her character is Shakespearean paradox. Its beyond clear from the first season onwards. Also Jon's Nightwatch ending didn't surprise me at all. You guys didn't pay attention. He never cared to rule. He actually loved the north. Again the series shows that the north was where he wanted to be. You guys are conditioned by "prodigal son returns" narratives which perfectly ok and i get the reaction. Don't confuse execution with narrative choices. Those are two separate things. This ending was given by the author himself. Poor execution is driving the perception of the narrative.

Guys, no… What Daenerys did was wrong in every single level. What she did was way worse than what the Mad King did. Of course it’s the writers blame, thats why this season is horrible. Cersei was an evil woman, Dany wasn’t, and still what Dany did was worse than all Cersei has done (by far)

I have thoroughly enjoyed your reaction videos! Please watch House of the Dragon so you can see the Targaryens in full effect. Please allow me to provide my two cents on the ending of the show. Remember what Ramsey said when Theon was being tortured..."If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention." Yes the writing could have been better, however I was not surprised that Dany went "mad". Remember Dany is blood of the dragon, she is chaotic by nature. It is said when a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin. Dany is a killer. She has been killing since she burned the witch (Mirri Maz Duurr) alive in season 1. She would have killed all the masters in Essos if it had not been for her council keeping her impulses in check. Everywhere she went she has killed and we as the audience cheered her on. I still loved Dany's character, but what she did in King's Landing cannot be justified.

One thing I don't understand about GoT fans is that they can support characters that sack cities and do terrible things EXCEPT for Dany in last episode. Tywin sacking Kings Landing can be debated, but Dany sacking the same city can't be? People can support Dany when she takes down Essos cities, but not when it's Kings Landing? (No way only slavers died in her conquering.) She literally threatened to burn Qarth in season 2, we always knew who she was, we just accepted it when we hated the same people she did. Every time we see war other than straight up in an empty field battle, you gotta assume there were civilian casualties. This is what happens when you back conquerors, y'all. War is terrible on every side, and if you're going to watch a show about war, you either can't pick a side or know that your side is participating in that shit. Especially if you back a conqueror, which is what Dany has always been. Geez. Edit to add: I don’t agree with killing innocent people and wish Dany had just flown up to Cersei and burned only her, but GoT fans are such freaking hypocrites about Dany.

Ya'll acting like burning an entire city after the army surrendered is normal is actually kind of disturbing, I've seen a lot of different takes on this season but I've never seen anyone say "as she should" for burning innocent people. What's there to rule when you burned everything and everyone? I think most people criticize that the writers made Danny go down a bad path and that it happened so fast but yall two not even thinking what she did was bad is baffling.

@emjay-gaming that's my point.. but killing people is not unheard of when conquering a land.. plus Tyrion screwing up over and over again as soon as he starts working with her.. Jon basically playing both sides in her face.. Varys tried to poison her immediately after swearing he would not conspire behind her back. At this point, it's no longer about what my 'advisors' want bc they obviously have ulterior motives. My best friends are dying bc of this and we are starting to feel very helpless, even with dragons... so... yeah... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The moment she figured out that she could watch someone die to get what she wanted - that was her path. Freeing slaves in a small part of Essos was great - but she had little patience and skill to build on that, to learn politics, to learn compromise, to learn about the people she ruled over. The fighting pits were their culture and she refused to understand the subtleties of why it was a smart decision, it doesn't mean she had to like it. She didn't have a plan for what happened to the slaves once freed and had zero interest in "clever plans" because clever plans and politics bested her in Quarth.

"Don't all queens and kings say that others don't get to choose?" - YES THAT'S THE POINT. DANY ISN'T ANY DIFFERENT. They literally style Dany's speech to her army ON HITLER imagery and these two say "this looks normal to me!". *I use to think yall were the smartest reactors to this show - but you can't see that ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.* Dany wanted to burn everyone at every single turn - AND SHE HAD TO BE RESTRAINED BY OTHER PEOPLE AT EVERY STEP. Tyrion pointing out that Dany made tyrannical decisions DOES NOT mean he's excusing Cersei. The writers fucked up big time - but you can't deny what all the fans are telling you after they had time to reflect and re-watch how Dany developed over the seasons. But almost everyone was disappointed in what they did to Dany. Also, refusing to see or value the complexity of Jaime Lannister after all these seasons and his reflection in Brienne eyes is kinda dumb. Not seeing that Tyrion truly loved his family no matter what, that he was devastated that he killed HIS ENTIRE FAMILY, mom, dad, siblings, is kinda dumb. You trusted Arya's judgement until she spoke truth.
@icechoc
@icechoc Жыл бұрын
Apart from the burning of King's Landing, every other death was absolutely justified. Traitors like the Tarlys who betrayed their liege lords, slavers and the Dothraki leadership who are rapists. Absolute power corrupts? Not always. There are so many real life examples where this was not the case as well as in this world. Aegon the Conqueror and Jaehaerys the Conciliator being two. Dany made no tyrannical decisions except burning KL. Tyrion's moronic and weak council led to this war being prolonged. Had Dany done what she had intended and burnt the Red Keep we wouldn't be here. Jaime Lannister was a great character. Until Season 7 where his character development became gutter trash and was reduced to Cersei's bitch. "I never cared for the people." Arya's judgement is horseshit. Girl massacred an entire family, regardless of whether they were guilty or not in her family's death. Same girl who said last episode "I don't trust her. She's isn't one us." Reminiscent of Cersei's "anyone who isn't us is an enemy." Arya then went on to say "I don't need allies" after she and the North (who ran away whilst the Unsullied defended them) were saved by their allies. Dany's 'development over seasons' as you put it included chaining her two dragons she views as children because one innocent girl died. Who only ever killed slavers, traitors and rapists. Her mad queen development wasn't built up over seasons. It was built up over 2 episodes.

Which is it? You either liked their choices or you didn't. Jaime and Cersei "did it to themselves" but Dany didn't by burning a city full of innocent people? I couldn't wait for your faces when Jon killed Dany. LOVED IT! I'm sorry, but if EVERYONE in the comments disagrees with YOU, that should tell you something. Maybe WE aren't wrong!
