Crypto is risky as many would say but I think the actual risk in Crypto is not investing, buying the capitulation isn't a tough call, but it is a very tough call to figure out what to do aside holding. I remember when I just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. I studied and learned and now I know how it works. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with 10k and I’m up with 128k in a short period of time

Most people don't understand that Bitcoin's supply is locked by mathematical certainty. The answer to the question about what threatens Bitcoin is that the US government cannot be allowed to hold more than 50% of all coins mined. The Fed could buy 51% of all bitcoins in a week and bring the whole chain down.

The only good thing you can use BTC for is trading it and converting to gold, as I did yesterday at BTC's all time high. Gold is down the last 10 days, BTC is up the last 10 days. No brainer, sold some BTC and now increasing my real gold! I guess Bhutan agreed with me as they sold off 30 million worth of BTC in the last few days on Binance

There's only 21 million minable bitcoin. Run into same issues that gold standard did. You can't loan it and charge interest. Because where will the interest come from? It's not the future of anything. A future where 21 million bitcoin is going to fund the global economy is just hilarious. Nations will just create their own crypto. How much interest would you charge me for borrowing 1 bitcoin for 10 years? Dollar is no more. Bitcoin is the future. A bank? A bank can't do fractional lending with bitcoin without systemic risks. Because there's a cap on supply. 5% interest? 10% interest? 20% interest? How does one figure out the borrowing cost of btc? Are we going to be taxed in bitcoin? Decentralized future is an oxymoron. If we're resorting to some digital program as a currency... it's going to be a dystopian future. Where bullets and guns will be more valuable than a PC wallet.

Bitcoin is purely a speculative asset firmly entrenched in the fiat system. "Number go up" is all he cares about. All that "alternative to fiat" nonsense has been tossed out the window due to speculative mania. The irony lies in the fact that while Bitcoin is touted as decentralized and an alternative to the fiat system, its price and "success" are deeply intertwined with the very system it claims to oppose-specifically, the Federal Reserve's money printing policies that drive inflation and the creation of "easy money." So, even if these crypto advocates talk about independence from traditional finance, their asset's rise is still tied to dollar-denominated liquidity in a system they criticize.

Don’t think Saylor considers BTC as an alternative to Fiat. Yes, correct fiat and especially the USD has a gloomy future - a melting ice cube you could call it , it is also correct that BTC is priced in USD or EURO or any other of the major currencies- same could be said for gold. However unlike Gold you would actually be able to pay, e.g. taxes, property with your “digital assets” either directly with BTC or converted to perhaps a better suited stable coin - without converting to USD. You will however never see a possibility to pay your taxes based on Ounces of Gold.
