That sweet little Chevy II,, daymn!! I 'had' a Super Gas '63, 468, power glide that ran 9:30's and we loved it. I pulled it off the track in the mid 90's when all the electronics started arriving. I just wasn't interested in learning it so we made the car into a show/street car and had a few more years enjoyment dragging it all over the Pacific North West, collecting trophys then after having it sit in the garage a couple years collecting dust we finally sold it. It had been a dream that had to be put on hold as we raised our 5 kids to one day have a quick and cool hotrod. It gave me that and that period of my life was accomplished.

Haha! I was sitting here watching Cletus pushing the buttons on the gear shifter and selecting the gears as he was moving along and thinking to myself man that must be so complicated. But then I remembered I am a CDL holding truck driver and whenever you consider all of the gears plus the range and the splitter buttons he's not doing anything that I have never done before just in a different format
@CGT803 жыл бұрын
x2 It isn't that complicated once you understand it for a particular vehicle. Running heavy equipment is similar. I have a gearvendors overdrive on my 79 C20 pickup with a nicely built 406sbc (probably 400hp and 500+ tq, with a full roller valvetrain, forged crank, aluminum heads, and all the other good stuff to make it last for many miles while towing) and a well built th400, all setup for towing. I use the GV to split gears when towing to get 1st over, 2nd over, and 3rd over. 2nd over is extremely useful for towing. When shifting back to direct, giving it a little throttle makes it shift much smoother rather than just banging out of OD with the GV.
