I hate to be the bearer of bad news Ash, but everything dies dear! The turtles don't just lay their eggs then die. These ones were probably a bit older, but more likely that their bellies were full of plastic. Another great episode guys. Great write up too guys. Cheers. Wade.

Ben and Ashley, here's a question to which I haven't found the answer, where do you find the kava to bring to the chief?? Have you thought about visiting that same turtle island on the next trip around and see how many trees are there? If there is one tree, eventually the whole island will be covered- eventually!

Coconut palm tree - because it's the most abundant and floatable fruit that always grows next to the water. That fruit floats and never sinks until it finds land to grow on.

Looks like after laying they chose a bad path to go back to sea, getting stuck and not being able to overcome the stones...or even at the time of coming in to lay...you do know that sea turtles return to lay on the same beach they were born on...so nesting happens more a less at the same time, you can find the place real crowdy...some coming some going...nests can be dug out and new ones are done...eggs go lost...when hatching time comes along, the little ones also get stuck in between those massive stones so they don't make it...if it is not a nice flat sandy beach this may happen.

Welcome to our Chanel Tony! We’ve lived next to the ocean all our lives. Now lived on it for over 3 years. Don’t know how to explain it. There’s this huge sense of freedom that comes with it. It’s weird to some...

Sailing Nahoa i bet it's different, i can capture the sense of freedom just by watching your videos! I'm sure there are pros and cons, like everything, but i'm very jealous! I'd love to do that, you should make a video where you explain the "how to", for example, you guys don't work right? So how do you eat and keep that lifestyle going?

Hi chaps! I saw turtles beaching to dig holes, and lay their eggs MANY years ago on a Greek island. (We kept our distance) It looked like an incredibly exhausting procedure, very slow, but determined! Their final efforts, after having slowly, and painfully covered up their children, was to slowly make their way back to the sea! Maybe the ones you found were old, or weak, and couldn't make it back? Expert knowledge needed! All love, and best wishes, Claire, Berlin 😘 😘 ✌ 👍 👍

I checked and apparently there are two main reasons Turtles die. Both have to do with pollution, like agricultural and Oil pollution. I've seen turtles die from being wrapped with fishing line and line used to wrap bales of hay. They eat plastic and die. One disease is called fibropapillomas and its linked to pollution.

Hurry up with another video, we love them! Most of these turtles die like everything else, old age and exhaustion. I'm sure a very, very small percentage have plastic in their bellies, but most are smart enough to eat what they choose. Definitely not the "more likely" cause of death, quite the opposite.
