It made me really happy and sad at the same time to see Mal walk down the aisle with her dad because my maternal grandfather died of stomach cancer in 1988, 11 years before my parents married (making me, my brother, and our four maternal cousins posthumous grandchildren), so he was never able to walk either my mom or her sister (who got married sometime before I turned 10 years old) down the aisle on their wedding days. I've always felt pretty sad that he never lived long enough to see any of his kids (my mom and her older brother and younger sister) marry and that he wasn't able to give my mom or my aunt away or walk either of them down the aisle, so that's why I always hope that whenever there's a wedding the bride gets to walk down the aisle on her father's arm if that's what she wishes and that I have that opportunity with my dad if I ever get married. It's also why I was so happy that Mal got that opportunity at your guys' wedding. I hope that your marriage lasts many years more as of 2021!

I am very late with this, but congrats to you and Mal. I am currently watching this at 1am and I am totally not crying (okay maybe I am). You two inspire me so much, not only because you are amazingly positive people, but because you proved that long distance relationships work, and that it is very possible to meet the love of your life online. I come back and watch this vlog a lot. My husband and I just got married in July and we were in a very similar situation to Stephen and Mal (long distance for quite some time).
