yo cleetus, we have those ac fans at my work. DONT THROW THEM AWAY. They stop running allll the damn time, check the pump. If it’s not pumping any water you can but a new pump and it’s super simple to replace. they’re a few hundred but cheaper than a few grand for those fans. i have replaced about 6 at my work and that’s usually all it takes. check the switches too could be the switch

Because sooner or later there's going to be a little reason that comes along that is going to require more home time. If you can keep up the content until everything is paid off, selling everything when you get ready to retire will be a HUGE nest-egg. I am all for OWNing where I work and/or live. @@mrmotofy I bought my house/ Retail store area 7 years ago. I bought with the idea of paying off in 7 years, and I did last month. I could have bought nicer and bigger but paying it off quickly was the main goal.( I spent $20K to fix it up decent ) I have owned 5 houses in my years, this one is the only one I ever paid off. It is a great feeling even if it isn't the nicest place. My car is also paid off. Owning is the way to go if you have the credit to do it.( or cash ) If more people bought with 10 year payoff in mind, they wouldn't have financial problems as often. I used to buy above my means so I never had money left over. I am older now, and being homeless is much more scary now.

I'm sad you won't be hanging out with Jeremy because you're all in the same spaces but definitely a good deal getting your own shop outright close to the Freedom Factory. Eventually if Jeremy and you agree maybe he can move to the Freedom factory but maybe for him the old shop is a better location for the commute from his home. I bought my house in 2012 when everything was cheap and it was the best move I ever made and like you said I'm paying myself now and the mortgage slowly goes down now instead of rent always going up. I also get the mortgage interest deduction which has allowed us to get some toys or upgrade worn out appliances and things. Good job and keep moving forward as nobody can tell you what to do now, within reason 😉

I got my house in 2014, just paid it off last month. Prices are crazy right now. I could sell and make 80K over what I have in it, but the location is perfect for me so not worth it. I feel bad for house buyers right now, prices are like they were in 2008 before the big crash. If you have the credit or cash on hand, buying is always a better thing. I also miss all the older videos with Jeremy and Cooper. Maybe some day they will all be back together, even if just for a few videos.

Well I/we couldn't afford to put 20 percent down but I probably had 15 percent. Credit was good enough to get one of the last really good fha loans and first time buyer and all that. I bought a decent enough Manufactured home in a neighborhood on its own land so got a smokin deal for a done move in ready place. Instead of putting all our money into the down payment put 4 percent down and used the rest to have a mini barn with a loft, a gravel parking area beside the house, and a nice 6 foot cedar fence with a drive through gate to park the extra cars behind the fence. That made the lack of safe storage or extra parking work and we just recently paid off the 20 percent so the PMI insurance just went away so will save a extra 100 a month soon. House is 4br with 2 bathrooms and 1400sf. Paying less than we were for a 2br 864sf rental and have a lot more house for a lot less, good times. Yes, could sell and have some money left but would probably just move sideways and get a house with a proper shop and parking like I wanted but would be paying more so stay put for now. I too feel bad for the families that couldn't take advantage of the super cheap houses available back then now that everything decent has doubled in price again.

The porta cools are easily repaired, but cheaper to buy motors pumps everything but the media filters, those are best bought from manufacturer, and there not cheap. But they will actually drop temperature 30 degrees below ambient temperatures. But if you don't care about close to 4 grand for the both of them. They can easily be improved above the original poor grade of components that were from factory. Just take a few minutes to collect the data from the tags on the electric motor, pump, and the rest of it is available from home depot are Lowe's to get them working. Media is only thing exclusively from manufacturer, and unless what you have is totally trashed, they can be cleaned up and made to work correctly if you set up water flow for each fan speed, and it won't increase the humidity that much, because of the cooling effect is real, and 30 degrees below actual temperature is a blessing for any mechanic are welder I know.
@Rubandent82
@Rubandent82 3 жыл бұрын
The average relative humidity in Florida renders evaporative cooling almost useless. You’ll never see the numbers you claim. I live in Houston and it’s the same here. In arid dry areas they do awesome
@timothymilam732
@timothymilam732 3 жыл бұрын
@@Rubandent82 well I am due north of you NE of Dallas, and while my relative humidity isn't quite as high as ya'll are. We do reach fairly high humidity percentage, and if you set the air to water ratio up correctly. You will see significant drop in temperature in the immediate area in front of the fan. If you do what 99% of the people do is crank the water wide open totally saturating the media, and once happens it's over, because your actually blowing droplets of water across the room onto everything directly in front of the fan. Then depending on the fan speed, and how much dirt has accumulated inside the media will determine the CFM's as well as the percentage of water droplets in the air stream. It's actually really easy to set the amount of water flow up those systems, if you read the owners manual. I not sure where Porta Cools competition is based out of, but their deep in the heart of East Texas right on the Louisiana border, with Toledo Bend as the boundary between the two states, and the average humidity there is probably equal to northern Florida's. But no one bothers to read how to setup the machines, and they never flush the media out properly, are clean the mud out of the bottom of the sump, and then it is spread throughout the media, coats the fan blades ruducing the amount of air they capable of moving. Combination of errors typically leads to short service life, and unhappy customers. 40 plus years in hvac, and first hand knowledge of how they work best in humid regions of Texas.
