Haven't watched yet but we just moved into our new build home after thanksgiving and eventhough my interest rate was crap and I'm in the denver ridiculous cost market, its ours and me my husband and little 2 year old are so happy to have it and grow in it for many many years to come :)

You can get a ranch style (so main bedrooms/living area are all on one level) and then GET you a basement. The basements in the ranch styles are huge because it's basically the whole size of the house all underneath! We have a ranch style with a huge basement

After my Mom had a major accident falling down the entire flight of stairs at our old house, my siblings and I all knew we would want a one story home. Also an important factor to consider is raising all your babies, parents/grandparents visiting and you guys also aging. Not having stairs in your home reduces the risk of accidents for everyone. Also if anyone happens to get injured (where they can’t go up a flight of stairs) their entire room wont have to be moved downstairs, I’m with Sav on one story home, not only is it safer but it’s very practical long term! (Also a plus is not worrying about flooding with basements, better heating in winter months and AC in summer since all one level) - Definitely go all out if you do end up getting one story home like Josh said and go BIG so your interior will be spacious!
