@@PeterPete I usually consult ground news if I venture into a new channel for news/info. The moment you see a Russian point of origin you can guarantee it's slanted or just plain fabriction. There are no pro-Russian sources which are credible. Some pro Ukrainian sources are most certainly not credible IMHO but other western sources who report Ukrainian matters are more reliable than others. Suggest you use it if you feel there is something contentious you need to contend with. There are other media checkers but this is the one I have chosen.

This Operation was a bad idea from concept. Ukraine has taken it's most elite troops and NATO equipment and wasted them in Kursk. Meanwhile in the East Ukraine is losing territory at an accelerating rate. Those forces in Kursk where better off being used there before the whole front collapses. Russia is not going to move forces from the East to stop Kursk Incursion, it will just use reserves and troops from none active fronts and from it's pool of reserve troops and it's form of National guard which can only be used in Russian soil. Let's be 100% honest here, Ukraine can't take Kursk with so few troops, Ukraine failed to grab the nuclear plant the only real bartering chip in that region. It's at best a well performed PR stunt that caught Russia off guard, but it holds no long term advantage. It will be another drain hole for Ukraine's limited resources and manpower.

What is clear is that we can no longer depend on the US for anything which makes us reliant on them in any way shape or form.

If he retaliates on a NATO nation I'll piss myself with laughter because if article 5 procedures are called he will be on borrowed time along with his Air Farce, his navy, his army will wonder what the f--- has hit them and his industries will be dismantled from thousands of kilometers away bit by bit, his railway system will no longer work within a month. No ship will reach a Russian port within a month. Kaliningrad will become Koenigsburg once more. Moldova will no longer have to worry about the Russians in their borders. Russian bases worldwide will be picked off one by one all at the leisure of western commanders - no great rush for that. We can come back later for them if the garrisons have not already done a runner or surrendered or requesting the host country permission for asylum. Then Ukrainians can spend years hunting them down one by one. If they mount something out of the ordinary against Ukraine then Ukraine will deal with it as best they can until they once more find a way to outsmart Putrid, I suspect some NATO nation or other will have a some equipment which will counter it and the Ukrainians will just continue with the killing fest.

Zelenskyy Kursk misadventure already failed spectacularly, but due to his obsession with media hype he can't even cut snowballing losses and as always he just reinforces the failure. Zelenskyy had a pipe dream to capture Kursk NPP. Capturing at such a staggering cost a string of villages in the middle of nowhere that can't be held makes zero military sense. Zelenskyy wasted so far 2,640 troops KIA, 298 armored vehicles, 24 artillery systems, 4 anti-aircraft systems on this another costly PR misadventure while vital Ukrainian positions at the actual front are crumbling. It's the same nutty pattern as was with Bakhmut, Krinky or a publicly announced failed Zelenskyy offensive in 2023. Zelenskyy is the gift that keeps on giving to the Russians advised by even nuttier DC gifts.
