@@paragonjones13 Oh, yeah no, the movie doesn't tell you a whole lot. The musical even leaves out a bunch. There's a reason the novel is called 'The Brick' by fans, and that reason probably involves the many, many pages dedicated to describing the Parisian sewer layout...So I guess in some ways it's a good thing a bunch gets left out of performances? Because honestly, who would want to sit there and watch multiple hours of Jean Valjean schlepping through the sewers? In the movie, you know the big elephant statue we see in some of the sweeping shots? That's where Gavroche lives, along with his and Eponine's two other brothers, since all three boys were kicked out by their parents. Or...something like that. I've never actually read the book, so all of my knowledge is just absorbed second-hand from having a friend absolutely obsessed with Les Mis for years.
