Depends. When I was new if you didn't mind being bait or cannon fodder or in distraction fleets there was always someone happy to lead you to a meat grinder. It's all experience and you'll make connections. If your not able to field ships and modules that fit the front line combat doctrine at the time expect to be in more disposable positions or specialize in small group tactics as fast roaming harassment squad. In nullsec war there are fights on multiple fronts especially when fighting a larger force. You need to split them up to have a better chance to win or wear them down with constant random harassment before the main event. To play at the highest level though you'll need omega eventually.

Former Goon here...How's the war going? I had to drop sub in 2019 due to promotion at work and literally no time at all but I have been trying to keep up with how things are going with the incursion of the undocumented illegals into Delve... but unbiased information is sparse and of course Test and Friends all say Delve will fall any second now. Would love to hear a no shit assessment from a GSW Line Member.

no shit assessment, is they have most of delve ihub wise - they have killed 3 of our 40+ keeps in delve and on the 4th they lost ~300 titans they cant take 1dq due to server capabilities and a severe risk aversion after m2 so they are hoping we stop logging in tldr: we will lose a lot of structures in delve but we expected that when they teamed up 90% of null against us, goons are not breaking we are not losing 30% of our numbers as they hoped so we'll see what happens a while to go yet i feel like

We watched the failscade happen in real time. We are moving out from the constellation and striking positions everywhere as the enemy attempts to flee. There will be no mercy and no quarter.

Love the song! I was a goon alliance member once. Being apart of it was ok, but having to run 4 or 5 different comms programs was really annoying and confusing at times. They need to simplify comms to only one or two apps.

Started playing back in 2009.... a Goon was the first to gank me, a Goon was the first to scam me, A goon was the first to pop my freighter, a goon was responsible for adding 25 jumps to my hauling route. Due to the Casus belli of Test alliance being "remove goonswarm from the game", Goonswarm is winning right up until the moment that they quit EVE. Over all the war is a back and forth, Goons have the financial advantage and have a large titan fleet held in a hellcamp, but Test and friends have the player numbers advantage and holding down the hellcamp has pinned a significant amount of goons forces at the M2 camp.
