We're opening both lanes of SH1 over the Brynderwyns during Easter.

Over the Easter holidays you’ll be able to use SH1 over the Brynderwyns in both directions for the first time since Cyclone Gabrielle.
We know that there will be higher traffic volumes over this time, so we made it a priority to open the road.
However, it’s still in a vulnerable condition so there’ll be temporary speed limits and traffic management in place, and we ask you to take your time and expect delays.
Some of the major slip sites still require more work, which is why from April 17 we will need to fully close the road again for two weeks. In the video below we explain why it will be too dangerous to work next to live traffic during that time.
