$35k over MSRP is crazy! 🤪🤪🤪. Looked at the Bronco display when we were at Overland Expo east. The Ford/Bronco rep asked how we liked them. I said not too much at all because of all of the price gouging (mark ups). For a more “plain” Bronco, the local dealer was asking $15k over MSRP. All crazy!

I recently bought a new Chevy Silverado and only found one dealer in the entire state that didn't have a $5-10K dealer mark-up. We're now supposed to feel like we're getting a good "deal" if we're only paying MSRP. Dealers have as much as a $90K dealer mark-up on the new Corvettes with the Z07 Performance Package. I love ya'll's content but I can't support paying ADM over MSRP. I wanted a Bronco so badly. Got my reservation in early and our plan was to replace my wife's 8 year old WK2 with a Bronco so we'd have my JL and her Bronco. The whole process with Ford has been positively the worst experience ever in getting a vehicle. I ordered our Badlands and we waited and waited until we finally got the news that it wasn't going to happen that model year. So we re-ordered the next model year and then we were told, to have a chance we would have to alter our order and drop options - first the hard top, then trailer tow, then we were told you need to drop this and that until what we would have to order wasn't even what we wanted? We realized, no, we want the options we want, so we decided to wait until THIS year hoping we could get exactly the bronco we wanted. The Bronco Raptor was announced, Ford sent us an email and asked if we were interested. Hell yes we were, we said yes and thought maybe we would finally get exactly what we wanted. 2 weeks later we were told that no sorry, we didn't choose you to be one of those rewarded with a chance to own a Braptor. Then we were told by our dealer, "Hey, your Bronco will not be made this year, BUT we have one with ALL of the options you wanted on your order, would you like to buy it instead?" Hell yes we would, that would be awesome! "Well, you can have it for just $25K over the sticker". We complained to Ford and they told us they do not have any influence over their dealers. My plan was after we got the bronco, in a year my JL would be paid for and I was going to by an F150 Raptor, which I've always wanted. I'm so pissed off at the way Ford has completely screwed over their loyal customers and treated us, that I will not buy an F150 Raptor. I will never give Ford a single cent. Scew Ford.

That being said, certain KZbinrs with say 10-million subscribers and millions of views on each video may get a "free" vehicle like a Tesla, or a certain brand of truck, but it's also a sponsored thing and they have to make videos of themselves driving them and talking nothing but good things about them. Just a few observations. 1): We are lucky as an overlanding/off-road community to have a vast majority of the KZbin channels that are dedicated to our topic of interest operate with integrity and "tell it like it is". 2): If a piece of equipment you purchased completely fails at meeting your expectations at the point of application, then there is a high probability it wasn't spec'd properly. 3): If you plan assessing the capabilities of the Bronco Raptor against extreme rock-climbing expectations, it will fail without pouring a bunch of money at it. No different than a Toyota, Jeep, etc. 4): Stop the whining about paying over sticker. You are fortunate enough to have the means to do it and it is your choice. Lots of people out there are struggling to make basic ends meet so the whining rings kind of hollow.
