My partner and I started our journey in Jan 2023, our match panel is in 2 weeks. It's been such a long, emotional and challenging journey. Being an LGBTQ couple definitely added some challenges. We met our son for the first time last week, it was amazing. Good luck to you both. Hold each other close and check in with each other regularly, it is a lot. Stage 2 is the assessment stage, it's not just about what you can manage as a parent, it's really looks at you as a person, your experiences, traumas, losses, attachment styles, childhood, everything. All of this information informs your perspective adaptors report which is submitted to panel. It's basically your life story, ours was 60 pages long!
