Also mental issues isn’t linear. Her being fine one moment doesn’t mean she will be fine in the next few moments. Also I think she was TRYING to act like she was okay, which was why she was doing makeup, dancing etc. They’re times where it feels like “if you act better, maybe you will actually start to feel better” it’s like a ‘fake it till you make it’ kinda situation (I’ve been there) and it is not the same for everyone. I imagine that she was thinking of self harming already but was trying to act like she wasn’t until she couldn’t fake it anymore. It’s not a sensible situation unfortunately, it can’t easily be explained because even sometimes that person themselves might not even be able to understand/explain what’s going on. And I think the actor who plays Ginny does a great job showing that.

Totally get what you're saying! Mental health is so complex and different for everyone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It isn't for me to understand what Ginny is going through, but to merely be of support to those around me that are going through something similar. It is a layered situation and requires more care than understanding of why.

Yeah I get it too like some days I just don't want to deal with anything but most of the time my mind is like static all the time so because of that I barely have emotions and when I do the very little and that not at the exact moment that I should have emotions life is just hard on time basically no matter what no matter no matter who you are life is just messy extremely messy.

@dee-vynevalentine3273 I understand this. Thank you for sharing. I also have bad days, but am typically triggered by someone or a circumstance. For example, I’ve had really bad corporate office (mean girl) like experiences that cause me to shut down and hide from the world. Sometimes, after a long day of work (could have been a normal office day) I want to go straight home. Not wanting to see or be around people anymore. I’ve had my fill. 🤣 It may be my introverted personality or a coping mechanism to deal with my PTSD. But it definitely makes me view office environments as messy and drama filled.

I started drinking coffee at 13! Also, someone who has self harmed since ages 15-17, her not sleeping and then turning to self harm was something that I did a lot. For me, it was because I couldn't sleep that I was left alone with my thoughts and that led me to self harming. I have been clean for 4 years, and I have learned that therapy and keeping yourself busy helps!

lol It’s high school, the teachers there have too many students to be talking to each other about one student not being in their class especially since they won’t all have the same students. The issue only comes if a teacher decides to do attendance, if you are marked absent in one class the principal or the “school office” or whatever is who clocks it and then calls your parents. Anyways though, loving your reaction to season 2. Marcus became a much more likely character this season, and actually became one of my favourites if I’m being honest. Also I get Ginny’s anger though, I don’t think no matter how bad the person was, you can’t just forget your mom killed someone. And then on top of that you start finding out her mom has lied about a lottt more things that you might not know about. It’s scary and I think Ginny is scared of that uncertainty, and scared that she might not know her mother at all, the person she is living in the same house with. Also her mom ruining her credit score is a BIG deal and will affect her a lot in the future. So Ginny actually has so much to be upset with.

Imagine if the teachers actually had time to gossip about students, that would be a whole new level of high school drama! I actually would be down to see something like that, Lol! It would be super unprofessional but very entertaining. I agree that finding out your mom "unalived" someone is traumatic, but she isn't grasping the gravity of why her Mom did it. Because no one protected her from her stepfather, so she protected Ginny from hers. I completely understand the why. The credit score thing is NOT cool! At all!

I’m sorryyyy I’m writing a lot lol. But this is kinda towards a question you asked at the end “if the trigger is no longer there why is the self harming not getting better?” (something along the lines of that) well there are times where something new can become a trigger. Just because something starts it doesn’t mean something else can’t continue it, because we have to remember that Ginny has been self harming longgg before she found out any secrets about her mother. She’s been self harming since like I believe the first or second episode. So her mother’s lies wasn’t the original trigger for her harming herself. Also the issue of her mother didn’t go away either but rather brought in a new trigger, because now she is told by her mom that SHE was the reason her mom killed someone. Now in her head she feels somewhat responsible. “My mom did it for be, she did it because of me” even though it is not her fault, her mind won’t let her think that way. It’s like all logical reasoning goes out the window at that moment, and it’s gonna take more than someone saying “it’s not your fault” for it to go away. She needs serious help and she needs to be able to talk about it. And even though she is seeing a therapist it sucks because she is not actually able to tell the therapist EVERTHING. And she can’t tell her dad either. So she’s trapped, because Georgia also won’t talk about it as well. So honestly therapy can only go so far if the real issue isn’t even able to be discussed.

ginny is mad but now she understands Georgia what she had to do to take care of her and survive. she don’t know what to do with the anger and her feeling bad bc she feels responsible for what her mom had to do for her.
