1:06:38 Hey It IS I the freak that reads every dialogue NPC at every chance he gets. So they actually do have some NPCs mention that there's a war going on and this island is in the middle of the 2 countries going at it, the main reason they can still do business and other stuff is explicitly because the viking mafia is protecting them and even the 2 countries don't wanna mess with them. (this is a merchant and his son talking to another merchant after you land on the island I think) There's also the fact this is a jrpg world with actual real monsters the vikings fight so the protection ring is still a scam to an extend but there are legit benefits to some of the people of the island. Also in another dialogue they do mention the Vikings used to be farmers and eventually split up doing different things, some went pillaging and this ones became the mafia, but Karja does mention that she considers the whole farmer deal to be the real way they are. (This one is a bit you get while talking to the vikings asking the for money at the start of chapter 3) It's funny how they specifically have to say this just to say this specific Vikings run a famia but didn't do the pillaging thing, they are amoral but no THAT amoral. As for the good old capitan, examining his actions with this context, they do mention he didn't pay like at least once before but he still wanted to do bussiness there (Probably because he didn't want to deal with navigating the other waters in the middle of a war) so he got mercenaries to kill the Vikings. Direct quote from the game "Any room you had to parley was forfeit the minute you put those mercenaries on your payroll" Which very much tells you they are killing him because he decided to get people to kill them rather than because he was skipping on paying them, if he didn't get the mercs they probably would have let him go. Even looking at the scene, the vikings jumped on the boat and the mercenaries shot arrows first at them without a word of warning. So idk what the fuck my dude expected there, he wanted the protection of the vikings from the other countries to do his business in peace but didn't want to pay so he started shit with a small local army that's strong enough to keep 2 countries at bay??? That dude was dumb as fuck.

Virtua Fighter is in a weird spot where its appeal is not obvious. The gameplay feels great and there’s a lot of depth while only using 3 buttons, I like how there’s no gimmicks, the characters personality/designs are simple, there’s barely any story, and even the combat isn’t that flashy unless you’re at a high level. VF being relatively grounded is its appeal to me considering every other fighting game has characters with a bunch of super powers and robots, gods etc. while VF has kung fu man and race car driver lol. I think there’s room for a fighting game that’s like that but I understand that a lot of people on the surface think VF is boring for all those same reasons but I think adding a bunch of super moves or drastic costume changes might make it lose its identity. Hopefully they can find a happy medium as that can get new people without VF becoming bootleg Tekken in the process.

The Dead Rising "Remaster" has to be one of the most pathetic, transparent, cowardly cashgrabs I've ever seen. Between the horrible AI upscaling all over the game, the "fixes" for "modern audiences", the complete destruction of gameplay mechanics and intricacies, and some of the worst censorship I've seen this side of 4kids, it might be one of the best arguments for game preservation I've ever seen.

So about the MonHun Wilds PC performance, because the beta is a year old super janky and unoptimized build the options menu isn't properly implemented. The turn on/off raytracing option is completely broken so it's just permanently on no matter what. So you have a computationally dense game with fancy shmancy graphics and forced raytracing in a year old build. It's no wonder why PC runs so much worse than console, even with similar hardware.

He managed to significantly improve his performance by messing around in the files but likely misattributed that. Apologies for the misinfo.
