Well, this is Train Simulator Classic. The locomotive models take time to make, and most likely would be more hassle to remove or make the drive links invisible just for a short video. I just use my imagination and don't put a lot of realistic logic in these video's as I understand the limitations this game has.

UP #3454 and the Gustavtime SW1500 pull up with the very rusty 9000 class. they pull the 9000 class slowly into the workshop. After that, the restoration work begins. The 9000 class restoration takes a bit but it's not rusty anymore. The rusty 9000 class reemerges as UP #9000 aka the prototype UP 9000. WB UP #9000

It would be really cool to see the 9000 union pacific steam locomotive restored. However the 9000 is not a articulated steam locomotive that bends around curves and is a rigid frame steam locomotive. That means the 9000 could only operate on long radius curves like on the plains but not necessarily in the mountains. The 9000 is limited range steam locomotive. My fellow railfans that know about this whats your opinion?

I bought a Sunset Brass 1/48 Two Rail UP 9000 in Italy back on 1978...Never ran it ( I was a HO modeler then) but now , in 2024-25 going into On42, Queensland Govt.Railways 1930s...and:a high level O gauge Oval to run a UP freight..." Come si deve" ( as one must!) 12 nd:AA20 14 drivers:have always fascinated me...I even debeloped drawings:for a Bar Frame Style Chasis for an 1/48 scale AA20 ( Ussr)... DocAV Aussie.

Hammond, Indiana was once the rail capital of the US with more tracks per capita than any other place. And the main high school there, Hammond High has (had) purple & white as the school colors. So, Gustavtime Railroad is only carrying on a long tradition. Now, if it were only a real RR. And, that it doesn't end up like HHS, which was croaked a couple of years ago and turned into a 'central' hs. Also, realistic that this rehab was done in Chicago, I think. Hammond borders Chicago on the southside. Finally, where is a Tasty Cola train?

Union Pacific #9000 has been successfully restored to working order, it now pulled a intermodal heritage train as its first task since the restoration. The train consisted of Union Pacific 9000 class #9000, a generator car, and a whole consist of intermodal containers. Railfans were awestruck by #9000's awesome display of power just as it had back in the good old days. The train departed Chicago pulling its intermodal load to Cheyenne. With that being said, welcome back #9000!
