You guys should get people to send in five second vids or photos of unknown or never filmed at skate spots and review your top 100 choices, you could even stretch it out and do one spot per episode, maybe entice pros in the country of origin to get some footage there, cheers for the good times fellas.

@@smokingscroogepack I grunt in pain each time I see one of these huge impacts. Used to know a guy that said he was pro back in the day (way back). Poor dude was a straight up mess, couldn't move right at all. He always blamed big drops from street skating. I've wondered if his issues could have been avoided if took better care of his body (PT, massge, chiro, etc). It just seems like no matter how good you take care of yourself, big drops like this are eventually gonna take you down.

Ryan's part is pretty epic. My favorite part of the year so far. I need to rewatch David's kickflip over that gap. Real was at big 5 for a long time too. I first had a Walmart board. But when I put my feet on a girl deck a friend had I couldn't believe how different & better even the griptape was. My town had just opened the first shop and was in heaven.
@TysonHook-22-3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the first pro board/complete you get is always a big deal and game changer. I give huge props to Chet Thomas/Darkstar, Santa Cruz, Enjoi, World Industries, Creature and all the other core skate companies making decent price point boards... of course there not all sold in walmart and of course there not made for experienced skaters but there great for young new skaters and are 1000x better then what us 90s/00s skaters grew up having as our first department store boards.
@bobkilla4303 жыл бұрын
@@TysonHook-22- all those companies are making price point boards now? Damn, but like you said good for beginners. I got my soggy Walmart board in Jan of 98 or 99 and got bdaya nice shorty's board for my bday. Time flies and just gave my cousin my old board since I didn't want him starting out like I did.
@TysonHook-22-3 жыл бұрын
@@bobkilla430 Yeah all those companies make completes that sell for $80-150 CAD... with pro decks costing $80-120 each here in Canada, I personally consider all of the previously mentioned completes to be price point/ beginner value completes... theres a few companies I left out too like RDS, Anti Hero, Element... I think ive even seen Chocolate and Girl ones etc etc a lot of companies are doing it nowadays. None of them are actually sold at walmarts here in Canada though... at least not that ive ever seen but you can find them at local skate shops and mail shops... I have no idea which brands are sold at walmart in the states, but there may be some of the other brands I mentioned right along side Darkstar... Darkstar, Blind, Enjoi, World etc are all companies under dwindle distribution and all make what I consider price point completes and NHS which is Santa Cruz, Creature etc make them as well. and nice Shortys is a great brand to start out with for your first real deck, im actually skating a muska silhouette deck this season... finally!! My first deck was a Chocolate board with a car graphic on it back in April '98 for my 7th Bday, which my neighbor actually brought me cause my grandparents were to cheap and I skated with his two sons at the time and he was super supportive of our skating driving us to comps and building us obstacles and was ahead of his time understanding that skateboard gear quality mattered... I likely wouldve quit early on if it wasnt for him and his sons handouts in the early days of me learning... my grandparents just couldnt understand the difference between Nash decks and pro decks. and yeah I do the same with my niece/nephew handing them down my old skate gear which typically has tons of life left for there needs and sometimes will even give gear away to kids at my local skatepark that look like they could use it, since I been that kid skating the trashed board in need of a handout.
@bobkilla4303 жыл бұрын
@@TysonHook-22- sweet I think I remember those chocolate decks. Wasn't it different cars for different pros? If I could I'd have a 100 muska red silhouettes I would. I heard they did a re issue last year but was too late. My first Shorty's was peter smollik rolling dice since my first video I saw was fulfill the dream and first mag was muska on the cover. We didn't have skate parks until I was 15/16 and the one at my hometown has had it too great. I lived 3 houses from a reg park so did alot of flat ground. Hs had good ledges while it lasted. Actually had a board made in Canada brand named bulletproof. Made from fiberglass and kelvar with some sort of putty to redo the nose and tail after it got worn which did not work and last time I skated in shorts. Felt like a razor once it wore down. True to its name it never broke even after running it over by a truck. That's really cool you give back 👍👍

I had a Nash board as my first. The biggest difference is it had no pop and was floppy... Trucks and wheels were aighhttt if I remember correctly. Griptape kinda shoddy. This was 1998. It had a sweet graphic though. A dragon printed on the wood grain. Real silk screened graphic.
