We Rode Rise Of The Resistance At Star Wars Galaxy's Edge In Disney's Hollywood Studios!

In today's video we head to Disney's Hollywood Studios for the media preview of the new ride, Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. (This vlog was filmed on 12/4/19.) We start the day with the ride and on ride POV video, this attraction is amazing!! It truly sets the bar high for rides in general. I was blown away with the level of detail within the set of the ride, the amount of animatronics, the quality of the screens and the overall scale of the ride. I really did feel like I was in a Star Wars movie, it was awesome! We also got some up close looks at some of the set pieces in Galaxy's Edge, we got to see some speeders closer than we've ever seen them before. Although this isn't something that a normal day guest would be able to do, we were happy to be able to share it here in the vlog. The amount of theming in this land is really impressive! Then we take a quick ride on Smuggler's Run before we head to the media center to show some of the new Mandalorian merch and The Rise of Skywalker merch. We end the day with our thoughts on the new ride, I think this is the best ride out there right now, I was really impressed with all aspects of Rise of the Resistance and I highly recommend riding it when you're at Disney's Hollywood Studios on your next trip! When I first saw any video for this, that jumped out at me and I had to rewind because I was suddenly questioning if those were projections or real actors. Then I restarted the whole video and started noticing there are a TON of super nit-picky details like that all over this ride. Things you don't consciously notice really, but that if they aren't there, it feels fake and off. The Imagineers put a huge effort into making this feel real by getting the tiniest details correct. Like matching video in the transport ship to what you just experienced in real life out on the loading platform (day/night versions of video). Or the overhead opaque skylights fading from daylight to black as you leave the atmosphere. Laser bolts from tie/xwings that pass overhead or behind you aren't just flashes of red or green light, they actually travel overhead through those opaque windows and match up with the video out the front/back windows. Or seeing the stormtroopers running into the hangar as the tractor beam pulls you in to reinforce that they aren't just fake mannequins standing there when you get out. Getting out the same door you got into the transport forcing you to admit you have moved making the flight itself feel more real. Those physical shadows added to projections. Actual traveling laser bolts coming from projected stormtrooper blasters. Animatronic blasters that have a physical muzzle flash. The list is just endless. This ride isn't just next level, it is the new gold standard for theme park attractions period. And it's going to be a while before anyone else can touch this level of immersive storytelling.

You're the only KZbinr I have watched with regards to Rise of the resistance who has mentioned about the side of the ride car swinging out allowing wheelchair user's to do a slide transfer. @@Yourfavbrunette530 6:30 is honestly the latest you want to get on a non busy day. Just went today and got in line at 6. Opened the gates at 6:30 and there were so many people it took an 30 mins for me to get inside the park (right at 7). Boarding pass distribution started at 7 and I got 35. That didn't get me on the ride until nearly 10am. Boarding passes we're gone by like 7:30. But it's not just about getting a boarding pass. It says that boarding passes 106 and above may not get called to ride so you really need to be there early early or your boarding pass may be pointless.

I rode this last week. I got in line at 6:30am and the park started letting us in at that time. Was in the park standing on the main street with thousands of other people at 7am. Boarding passes were live and taken within 5 minutes. I got boarding group 47 and got to ride around 11:40am. I'm not a huge Star Wars person, but this ride seriously was the most amazing ride I have ever been on! So immersive and made you feel like you were really a part of something out of this world. I highly suggest everyone try to get on this ride, Star Wars fan or not.

When I pushed a button while waiting at 7:44 , the first order trooper cam over to me and started joking around, in a VERY SERIOUS way. :) When we were walking around, I was able to play a Star Wars card game found in the movies called Sabacc. There were Cast Members, or citizens, that were just there to play and talk to you. They were meant to make the experience more real. When we asked another worker if he wanted to play, he started announcing it, so many people, including Chewbacca, came to play. I really hope this continues, for it make the experience even better!

It was. It was just incredible. The cast members playing the First Order soldiers we great. They were trying to convince this little kid next to me to join The First Order. Staying in character without being scary for the young ones. It was so incredible to witness it all. Still nothing beats coming off that transport and just being in a Star Destroyer. WOW! Anyone reading this you have to experience this! ESPECIALLY if you are a Star Wars fan.

In order to ride Rise Of The Resistance, my family and I woke up at 4:30am this morning and were at Hollywood Studios for 5:00am. It opened at 6:30 because the line was outside security! Anyways, we got into boarding group 21 and rode the ride at 7:45am. Let me just tell you that this video doesn’t do it justice. Hands down best ride I’ve ever been on and like Tim, I can’t recommend it enough!

Thank you for ALWAYS including wheelchair users and disability in your vlogs. At the beginning I was so sure I wouldn't be able to ride ROTR because it said I must be able to transfer which *usually* means be able to stand and walk onto the ride, something I'm unable to do, but when you showed that the side of the carriage opens and I can slide onto the chair (which I CAN do) it made me so happy that a) Disney have made that a possibility and b) that you cared enough to show it! It means more than you'll ever know that you do this.

Rise of the Resistance is truly one of the greatest attractions I have ever experienced. When I first went through it, our cell broke down and we got to walk around the star destroyer detention level more... I was just blown away. We spent 25 minutes in the attraction. I completely agree! I got to ride it twice (6am park arrivals both days) and was completely amazing by everything about this ride. It is top to bottom brilliant. Disney went all out on this, and did not cut any budgetary corners. All the technology is cutting edge, and it is immersive to a degree that I've never seen before. I'm not even a Star Wars fan, and I truly cannot describe how much I love this ride. Fantastic job, Disney!

Rode Rise of the Resistance yesterday and I'm still in awe and shock. It was super next level. We got boarding group #68 at 7 AM when the park opened and didn't ride until 7:30 PM! Totally worth it. There's nothing like it.

I am crying, it looks so amazing! I was just there in November and piloting the Millennium Falcon was a dream come true. I can't wait for our next trip to ride this and possibly stay in the Halcyon

I went on this yesterday and the best way I can explain it is that it was like watching a really good movie. I forgot that I was on a ride it was THAT immersive. Simply stunning
