We rode the epic B500 ROAD in the BLACK FOREST (2-up touring in GERMANY)

In this episode we continue our adventure through GERMANY!
After a rainy ride across the border from the Netherlands, we pick up the adventure again in Germany by riding into the centre of Cologne. From there we ride south down the Rhine and into the Mosel River Valley, avoiding the highways to enjoy the smaller winding roads. In the Mosel Valley we explore some castles and the town of Cochem, before heading further south to the Black Forest for some epic riding not the infamous B500 road! We also did our first wild camp!

Gotta love a good currywurst und brätwurst. Several regions in Germany are amazing to ride with the motorbike. Lovely video. Just a little tip. Especially in the mountains. When cornering try to 'colour' between the lines. Including with your helmets. You'd be surprised how often you'll find cars, trucks and buses crossing the line towards your side of the road. Oh. And for the next time when you visit the Mösel valley. Go visit Traben Trarbach and Bernkastel-Kuas. Very interesting and photogenic places. Further Luxembourg is one of the best roads to ride in Europe. Amazing tarmac and corners. Whenever you decide to visit there let me know. Have several routes there available privately. Oh. And the Eiffel region of Germany is very lovely as well. If you need tips for Austria and Italy I can send you some as well. Safe travels and enjoy!

Just found and enjoyed the video guys. A criticism tho, you really should look in the internet as to which countries you are allowed to wild camp, as in Germany it is forbidden and could cost you up to a €500 fine. This depends on whether or not you drove and parked your vehicle, motorcycles included into the woods/national park/ conservation areas and private property. It is not even allowed to do offroad 'training' except on the official TET or with proper riding schools that have their own grounds for it. Do not take for granted that because someone put a wild camping site on I Overlander that it is legal. An old german saying is " dumheit wird bestrafft" / "stupidness will be punished" . What is meant by that is, ignorance of local or county/country won't excuse you of consequences. Ride safely guys.

Thanks, Richard :) We do check the laws / rules / guidelines for each country beforehand. Free camping is forbidden in the majority of European countries, but can be tolerated if you are sensible, such as camping in remote areas, pitching up late and leaving early, and of course never leaving a trace. We are always careful and have had no issues in our 3 months on the road :)

Wild camping is not allowed in Germany except at places where permission is given. That behaviour is typical British, just like speeding at the B500.
