The romance between Princess Bubblegum and Marceline is one for the ages - literally. It’s been a long time since Adventure Time premiered, and, more than a decade later, the Bubblegum and Marceline special, Obsidian brought the duo to the forefront.
We spoke with Olivia Olson, the voice of Marceline, and Jessica Dicicco, the voice of the Flame Princess about what makes these characters and Adventure Time special. We also brought in some cosplayers to talk about both the power of the Bubbline ship and the effect that cosplay has on us.

Wow, it's interesting to see what Olivia was actually thinking when she made the Bubbline leak in 2014. She legit didn't think it would be on the show and thought it would be fine to talk about. Unfortunately, not only were the crew waiting to see if they COULD get it on the show, and they certainly didn't want people talking about subtext (see: Frederator Mathematical! controversy), they also didn't want the scrutiny of Cartoon Network to suddenly bear down on them at a time period before it was socially acceptable to write gay stuff in cartoons. Especially if they were planning the start of season 7 at the time. If the censors caught on they were doing romantic stuff, then the international CN team might threaten to defund the show, just like they did to Steven Universe. :(

Olivia Olsen and Jessica Dicicco are both in Adventure Time as Marceline and Flame Princess but Tara Strong was in a different tv show as Plum from Bravest Warriors.

This was a lovely video. The cosplayers are SO GOOD. The gentleman and the two ladies are charming, it was nice hearing you talk. And it's a collection of some of my favourite voice actors. I love you all. It's a shame Hynden wouldn't join - that would have COMPLETED the pack!!!! Also I love Hynden and would love to see her talk, but it's understandable if she doesn't want to, she's always said that she doesn't want to be in the public eye.

It's nice to know that the voice actors also had emotional experiences with their characters, and not just us the fans. I used to always listens to olson's I'm Yours cover and imagining her as marcy singing to bubblegum ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Being a closeted bisexual kid, pb & marce definitely is one of the nicest things in my life. Also both of the cosplayers are awesome!

Another Great Episode of The Ship-It Show Tara and Greg! You guys know how to knock them out of the ball park! The Guest Stars were also Great and those cosplays are Awesome! Adventure time is a Great Cartoon. It's got Amazing Stories, Characters, Action, and so many other Awesome things I can't list them all. It's one of Cartoon Networks best shows. I haven't seen Obsidian cause I don't have HBO Max. I've watched the Complete History of Marceline and Princess Bubblegum on HBO Max's KZbin channel and I gotta say it was really good and made things so much clearer. Plus it was easier to watch it than the whole series again because there's so many episodes. Thanks again for another Great Episode of The Ship-It Show and I also wanna say Thank You So Much Tara and Greg for making my day on the last episode when you referenced my favorite song of Blue Oyster Cult: Godzilla! It still brightens me up knowing you two referenced a Great Song about an Incredible Franchise and one of my All-Time Favorites: Godzilla the King Of The Monsters, Tara and Greg!
