This video is a year old and nowadays aptx lossless is becoming more popular in high end mobile devices but sadly not in the Samsung S24 ultra’s among a few others….probably due to licensing costs and protecting their own codecs/ego-system.. how very unfortunate. Interesting to hear the pair from Qualcomm…didn’t know there was a Qualcomm office in Belfast…recognising their accent as I am from NI 😉

Only 6 minutes or so in… I would like to have known why we have a situation where Bose have used the QCC5171 but have not enabled the aptX Lossless (or Adaptive) codecs. What’s that all about?

We asked that question - didn't really get a clear answer though.

He did say that QC went ahead and put the capability into older chips . I think he wanted to say that it will be possible to activate lossless if they are will to pay extra for the codecs.

I can't enable aptx (classic) on my Pixel 6a with my LG Tone Free T90 aptx (adaptive). Shouldn't aptx adaptive be backwards compatible? I should get aptx (classic), or?

What do the folks at DHREM use when testing and reviewing headphones and earbuds with Android devices? What streaming platform do you use? Please elaborate or point me to a video. Thank you!

Except for the S24 Ultra. Those beeeeeeping bleeeeeps at Samsung only allowed regular aptx, not aptx adaptive or aptx HD which my new Stax Spirit S3 headphones support. Buying a little USBC Bluetooth transmitter so I can have those codecs available with my laptop, or my phone.

Yeah but their codecs are inconsistent. They say your phone support it but they expect the OEM to pay again a license. r2.0,r2.1,r2.2 is several versions of AptX adaptive. SD sound and voice is also patent limbo.

I have tried aptX Adaptive on several xiaomi phones. After adaptive connection, paired Bluetooth devices will have a low latency mode feature. This feature is described as reducing lag when running videos and games. However, the sound quality will deteriorate even if you are not playing games or watching videos. Turn this feature off. Of the devices used, the Mi 12 is also certified for Snapdragon sound but has the same problem. I want to get feedback from Xiaomi but I don't know how

A pop-up window appears at the top of the screen when you connect a smartphone and earphones certified for Snapdragon Sound. To connect at 24-bit 96kHz (~860kbps), you need to change it to 96kHz in Developer Options>Bluetooth Audio Sampling Rate. I am very bothered by this. Other smartphones such as the Motorola Nubia should be selected in the developer options in the same way. I don't know why, but the snapdragon sound pop-up window that appears when connecting for the first time does not appear on the next connection.

So in fact there is no minimum standard or quality to achieve to have the Snapdragon Sound logo, you just need to have one of the latest Snapdragon audio chips🤔 I would have liked you to ask why earbuds that have Snapdragon chips that manage ADAPTIVE APTX, do not activate it, you have to pay royalties for each APTX format ?

a 100cc bike is not stable when it reaches 80km/hr, a 300 cc bike can reach 170km/hr however it's stable at 80-150km/hr I hope you understand it.
