Since when is a print of a woman taking a piss considered art? I'd call it trash. The mold in the bathroom in Liverpool would kill my lungs. I would have moved to a different room. Waterfall feature on the toilet wasn't good neither. Liked the look with the bins on, Juls. I get mine for reading at the local dollar store for just a buck (0.83 GBP). Overall the video was bril. Enjoyed the adventure very much and can't wait to see you visit the haunted hotel in Chester. Fresh batteries for the PK?

What an explore, I'm surprised you stopped there at all. You should both work for Health and safety lol I bet you would make a better job than them anyway. I'm surprised they have a license to open, it is such a shame to neglect such a historical building especially with those lovely features, so sad. Hope you had a lovely time in Liverpool anyway xxxx

A great video this, and yes, in true Britannia Hotels style, it was pretty grotty once you ventured deeper into the hotel and uncovered damp, mould, crumbling masonry and all the other delights of staying at the Adelphi. I had a look at Google Streetview to see what the buildings out the back of the hotel were, that you pointed out had big hole in the roof, and yes, they are to do with the hotel - if you go back to earlier times on Streetview, in 2009 you can see that those buildings were actually an undercover car park for the hotel. Where you parked your car, on that open air car park, 10 years ago used to be an old derelict factory or warehouse type building and a Royal Mail sorting offices, and since 2009 they had been knocked down, meaning the Adelphi now uses the open-air car park and the one undercover (with the hole in the roof) seems no longer used. Wikipedia article on that hotel says it opened in 1914 and back then was the Midland Adelphi, hence the initials M A that you saw on the architecture in the lounge, obviously initials for Midland Adelphi. The room you saw with the round window seems to be one of only 5 in the entire 402 room hotel, which had the unique style round window and were on the top floor right at the front of the hotel. Very nice it would have been back in the olden days but being a Grade 2 Listed building I suppose Britannia had their hands tied as to making changes to it, as it has to be kept in the style of the listing, hence the old-fashioned appearance inside. I guess it's very expensive to maintain all those old windows to adhere to the listed status and they cant just stick all UPVC windows in there. That beeping you heard in that corridor about halfway through the video is one of the devices on the fire doors that holds the doors open but automatically allows them to close if the fire alarm sounds - these beep like that when the batteries are running low. Had to laugh when you went to the next hotel and it was more like Fawlty Towers, haha. I guess there's a staff shortage these days, and many hotels just cant get the staff they need for what they are prepared to pay them. We have a Britannia here in Stoke on Trent called the North Stafford Hotel near where I live and that has been block booked all its rooms to house asylum seekers, which I imagine they may well do with the Adelphi in due course - hope they enjoy it as much as you did.

Shame they that bad of a state would have been a nice hotel if they did something about it don't think I will do another Britannia hotel saying that the Travelodge was not much better 🤣 in Chester ... Car parking is daylight robbery thats where they are making there money bathroom is disgusting especially the bath i could put up with the mould on the walls but the bath shower glass is disgusting thank goodness the beds are not to bad 😀
