FYI, it is a wildlife reserve. It is therefore prohibited to go down this couloir which is not a marked route and the use of drones is prohibited. Your other videos are great but here this is really a bad example.

@@CM-eo3kf We do agree with you that this video can be seen as a bad example. However we did not knew before hand that this couloir is in a wildlife reserve. The goal of the video is to show an adventure and not to promote this couloir. This is also the reason why we don’t explain or show where we are exactly. Only the people who know will recognise it.

This couloir is in a wildlife reserve (no snowsports whatsoever authorized) which may be a reason why there’s no fixed gear.

We did not knew before hand that this was a wildlife reserve. There was actually some fixed gear for the first rappel to get into the couloir, as you can see in the video

@HiddenFacesEpisodes Very much doubt that you didn't know since you seem like you researched the route and the only forum describing the itinerary makes it very clear, including the exact perimeter of the banned area overlaid onto the topo and the appropriate citation of swiss law. You were very close to making a generous donation to Switzerland by needing rescue!

Glad to see you made it down safely. Interesting to hear your planing process on the hoof. Top tip, take more wooden anchors as they weigh s o little anyway & cheaper than an ice axe to replace

Beside the wildlife reserve issue really great episode! I love your steep skiing evolution. If you feel comfortable doing that stuff, I hope we'll see more of that in the future!

Very good idea to have some pitons for the rappels. Cheap to leave behind and very versatile.

Awesome documentation as always. Great line you chose. From the video it looks like down-climbing in crampons could have possibly worked for the first crux also no?
@HiddenFacesEpisodes
@HiddenFacesEpisodes 4 күн бұрын
@@bimfred you are right that could have been an option but because of all the ice around this crux it would have been tricky to transition to crampons and timing-wise, doing a rappel was faster
