I'm in UK but my cousin in SC in America send a box of goodies for our family once and included pickled pigs feet. The jar broke in transit and basically ruined the whole box and managed to eat through a lot of the contents. I thought he sent fetuses lol..I was horrified. I'm so glad you approved the Haggis. First time I visited Scotland as a Brit, I tried Haggis and almost threw up at the thought of it. And then I ate it and it was like a rainbow appeared through the clouds. It was phenomenal. It was garlicy, herby, really organ tasting, kinda like Liver and Bacon. Really tasty stuff.

As a child, I used to eat pickled pigs feet all the time. I've eaten pickled pigs lips as well...not as much a fan of those. Pickled sausage and pickled eggs are also good. I've had the canned brains...not bad on toast. It came from a time when there was meat rationing by the US government. Farmers had the meat in abundance but the government regulated the sale of meat (claiming the need for meat scarcity was due to the war) to the point a black market was created and people were imprisoned for buying and selling meat. Offal was one of the few items which was allowed. The government even had a program promoting that Americans should eat more offal. The government also had another program telling people they should use their rations to make gifts for the troops to lift up their spirits. The canned brains are treated with curing salts before canning...so they stay pink and have a Spam-like taste.

For the fermented shark part: First-timers are sometimes advised to pinch their nose while taking the first bite, as the odor is much stronger than the taste. It is often eaten with a shot of the local spirit, a type of akvavit called brennivín. Hákarl comes in two varieties: chewy and reddish glerhákar

As a Chinese, I swear, man the spicy fish, dried fish, pork floss, pigs feet, and 1000-year-old eggs are awesome. But I guess it’s for a certain taste cause I grew up eating it so that’s probably why I love it, but who knows. I mean, definitely it’s cook, right anyone would love it. Also as a Chinese, we do love and are able to handle the numbing spicy, but not the spicy.😅😊

Haggis gets a lot of bad press for the lamb heart and liver, but its the spices that make it. However, sticking a thick slice of it on a buttered roll/bap with a dash of HP/A1 sauce, when nursing a hangover on a Sunday morning with a cup of sweet tea. Freaking delicious and almost medicinal. Haggis various with each individual butchers recipes into what spices they put in it, but proper haggis with neeps (mashed swede) and tatties (mashed potatoes) is a most delicious food. You guys were babies about the pork feet. I grew up with homemade pickled pork feet and they were wonderful- made with pickling spices and a vinegar gelatin base - amazing. However recently I tried the one you had that is all pink and it was not good, but not as bad as you made out. Yeah you must have had bad century eggs because they are not bad and can be like blue cheese in some dishes especially in congee. You guys should do more asian meat snacks. Shrimp chips, Crab Chips, Fish Skin, Squid Jerky, and tons of canned and dried fish and shellfish. Lots of people in the world dip in vinegar or hot sauce and they become tasty. Other things to try-pickled pork skin, chitlins, the green entrails from abalone, crab roe or tomalley. Also if you can get a balut that would be fun to watch. I am open minded about a lot of food, but I do know I can not do that icelandic ammonia fish stuff. I just can not put that smell in my mouth, my whole sense of survival kicks in and says NO NOT FOOD, but many love it. I give high praise to you both for man upping on that one.

I have had them and thought they were good. More bones than meat. Maybe they had something different than what I remember having.

I love pickled pork hocks and I get them every so often. They're great with some Ritz crackers.

Century eggs cut the egg into 1/8 wedges and serve on top of firm tofu cut to exactly 2in x 1in x 1cm. Optional but you can drizzle about a teaspoon of chili oil on top. Delicious

I love that in USA product labeled as Polish Sausage have nothing in common with any of 100s of types of polish sausage. Typical polish sausage for me is Silesian, coarse grinded pork with garlic, sweet paprika, coriander and black pepper. Smoked with maple/beech or birch wood.

Guys... I love pickled pig feet. The best part is the chunks of muscle, but I dig the skin and collagen globs as well. We used to even save the bones to chew on later after they were dry enough to crunch. We'd run down to the corner store, get some pig feet, boiled peanuts, and pickled eggs, then run home to play some Smash Bros with our snacks.

I was born in China and lived there for the first 15 years of my life. To us, the century egg is a very classical dish eaten typically (only) during the Chinese New Year. And I just want to say something that will hopefully remove some biases against the Century Egg. CUT THE CENTURY EGGS INTO SLICES AND DIP THEM WITH SOY SAUCE. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO EAT THEM.
