We've had a ton of unboxings this winter spanning baits, reels, rods, terminal and even two new kayaks. Now that the weather is warming up we're finally getting all this fishing gear on the water and putting it to work! Bass were caught and opinions were made.

Last weekend I tried out the new Rapala Crush City Bronco Bug, which is about as close of a knockoff of the OSP Dolive Beaver as you can get without putting OSP on the package. As expected, it worked just as good as the OSP version. I swam them just off the bottom using a Gika rig and it was money! I also broke in my new Dobyn’s DX703SF Extreme HP spinning rod on free rigs and wacky Senkos. That rod is absolutely amazing, but it should be for what they cost.

Great vid, lots of new stuff I need to check out. I’ve got and order from Great Lakes Finesse coming Monday. Can’t wait to test the new Juvy craw, and grabbed some hellgrammites to. West Marine is having a 50% off sale on kayaks in my area. And I got my first kayak. Nabbed the Wilderness Systems Recon 120 for $580 out the door after tax, cause I took the floor model for and extra 25 % off to boot. Price was just to good to pass up. Can’t wait to add the peddle drive, or a electric troll. Took for a test paddle Wednesday and really like it, though it’s a bit of a barge and a little slow paddling. I felt super stable and it tracks pretty well. I will probably be able to end up using it in the Puget sound salt water, so that’s a bonus for me. Waiting on my Electronics mounts and such and I’m ready to fish it next weekend. Can’t wait for pre spawn. Chinook salmon just opened to. Wish I had the peddles today, I might have gone after em… Tight lines y’all !

I have to agree with Paul the pdl 106 has become my favorite kayak and my number one recommendation when someone asks me about kayaks! I have had many kayaks and I now have a the pdl 106 and I love it so much

@14:45 An even lighter weight version of that dropshot clip is actually commonly used by gross heathens like me with fly fishing (specifically tenkara) so you can quickly change your fly without having to re-tie until you figure out what's catching fish. Most manufactures making these also offer clip sizes/strengths all the way up to saltwater levels. Tying once is a great thing and they're so lightweight and small that they really do not affect the performance of 99% of all lures/baits.

Old Town customer service is terrific and the PDL drive is the most reliable in the biz. Love my 106 PDL. Those TFO’s look a lot better than the old tactical elites!

I recently purchased the Ark Gravity BFS as well and have had a few chances to fish with it now. It does seem to be everything I was looking for in a BFS reel. Have caught about a dozen or so fish on it so far and its so much fun! Can handle the light things with ease and does well with some of the heavier stuff too! Very impressed and I got it on sale for around 115!

Glad you guys finally made it out on the water. Enjoyed the gear brake down. I’m really happy with the Phenix rods I have (3). I have the feather series and they are great. Ca based company and they answer the phone with tip’s recommendation and applications. Great video

My boat is a PDL 106. I got it used, and it's all I could afford. I love it. And I can haul it in the back of my S10. I put a Yak Attack rod holder in the starboard side track. That works well for when netting or rigging.

I got that exact same 106 a couple weeks ago. My first PDL kayak and I love it. I will say though adding 3.5 inch risers in the back and 1 inch in the front changed the comfort level from good to amazing. Also coming from a perception Outlaw to this, the seat is like sitting in a lazy boy.

Now that you have both tested everything you should have a fishing competition. Both use the tested baits and see who can catch the most or biggest fish in 1 day. Call it the 1 day finesse challenge.

I’ve been using 1 single Z-man TRD minowz on a VMC finesse neko size 1 hook rigged like a swim bait with a 1/32 unpegged weight. Im now up over 50 dinks caught on the same plastic. So testing Z-man durability and it’s going strong

I'll tell you what I went out this week with my KGB Legend 9 inch glide. Caught a decent size 7lb pike forgot to check my spool and had some line dug in. Let's just say thank the lord I tied an FG Knot to 85lb braid with my leader....

In 6’ and 190 lbs. would the 105 be too small for me? I’m currently using a Crescent Ultralite 10’ and it’s a bit tight (but also VERY tippy), so I’m looking for something more stable in a pedal Kayak I can car-top.

I’ll take humidity over ball freezing blizzards and 3ft snow any day. Plus the advantage of fishing year around for all types of fish is priceless. By the way bluefish bite on the treasure coast was crazy this year. 😉
