Hey, Y'all!!
We had the BEST TIME at our 3rd Annual 4th on the Farm Party! I used to get SO STRESSED about having people over. I would go on a cleaning frenzy that would make my family (and me) crazy--and sometimes I became overwhelmed by it all.
I have learned that good planning and time management can help keep the stress at bay, and I wanted to share these tips and tricks with you to help you host a great party at your house, without feeling stressed and overwhelmed by it all.

I just got to finish watching this. You got a lot done in one week! Your home is beautuful! And, I want to say, my Dad is a Custom builder, they have wood countertops in their Victorian style home. I LOVE your house! You did a great job of keeping the food simple. That's where I get lost. I have to elevate everything & go completely over the top. I'm a total disaster for weeks on end before having just 3 people over. And then they end up looking at me like what is this interesting foreign dish I've never seen before? 😆

@@dandybanana I’ve got that same affliction! My cure was to move out to the middle of nowhere, we rarely succeed in luring anyone out here. My family are the usual victims of my silly self imposed need to mold butter into rosebuds and sculpt oddities out of dinner roll dough and so on. Too bad our boys outgrew the themed birthday parties, I made the most of those occasions!❤️

@@dandybanana My parents cabin in the woods scares the wits out of me! It could easily be a filming location for The Evil Dead or The Blair Witch Project! It’s a beautiful spot…until it gets dark outside. Then I hide indoors scratching my mosquito bites and waiting for the sunrise. I feel safer out here in dairy country, maybe the smell of the neighboring dairy farms scares the monsters and zombies away!

I’m here for it! I haven’t seen one of your videos yet that I didn’t enjoy and learn something from. It helps me stay grounded to see other people face similar challenges. We live in very rural northern Vermont with no close neighbors. Our boys are both 20 somethings and do not live at home. We see them rarely as their social lives take priority at this point. I’m due for a hip replacement and have to deal with the constant frustration of not ever getting to the bottom of my list. Oh, and did I mention we have 3 horses, chickens, 3 dogs, geese, and 4 cats. I’m learning to take encouragement from the things I DO accomplish and I frequently remind myself that Martha Stewart has a staff to help her. My house is old (1860), huge (18 rooms) and not as clean or tidy as I’d like. But it could be much worse.!❤

@@homemadesimplewithlori Thank you! I played too hard as a kid and got into a bad car accident, I guess my right hip is paying the price. Still, I am so blessed even to be alive, be able to walk (slowly, painfully and clumsily, but I’m still walking!). It serves me well to remember that it could always be worse! I know that this is temporary, and I apologize every day to our house. It was condemned when we bought it and I lovingly restored it and raised the boys while my husband worked. I know it sounds very silly, but I do feel like the house understands and will forgive me.❤️
