We took the Apple Watch Ultra for a dive.

The Oceanic Plus app finally launched last month, and while we don’t have a diver on the Verge staff, we enlisted the help of a professional to see how the Ultra fares deep underwater.

I use the Ultra with the standard ‘depth’ app. Divertime, depth, maximum depth and temperature. Afterwards you can see your dive in the health app. In this case it’s not more then a depth computer but as long as you know you don’t need deco… perfectly fine. And even if if you are not sure you need deco time, just do it.

You were in the spot I received my open water cert. awesome site. As far as the watch, I think it’s good for redundancy, but not my main computer. Air integration is a must as well as having something let you drop to an occasional 130+ depth (i.e., unplanned surge, wall dives, etc). However, I applaud Apple for recognizing our sport.

Who’s scuba diving for a year 😂 Regular open water divers like myself we have like 1 big trip a year and I fine to pay a month like $10. Never tried it yet. Just got my Apple Watch ultra 1 over the summer

Suunto D5 is 100 less than the 700 I paid for the ultra. Seems to me Suunto is the rip off merchant
