When I was 12 or so I found a male North American wood turtle . He had one eye and left rear leg was not functioning but still attached . I took him to an animal sanctuary. The wood turtle is my favorite turtle and evokes the same enthusiasm and excitement you exhibited with finding that wild tortoise. Awesome 😎 !!

How nice to see Chris so excited when a wild herman's tortoise was found. Very pretty color,and shell pattern. It is like a dream come true for him, and Casey. Then he brought his find over, and the tortoise conservation man, had found one to. Both males. They were looking in another area, and a juvenile was gound. So they are reproducing in the wild. Sadly they found a partial shell of one that had been eaten by a predator. Their goal now is to have a tunnel dug out, under the road. So they will not be killed crossing a busy road.
