I was at an air show in Alachua and the announcer pronounced "ala-chew-a" I said God Bless you to a random person I was walking by and they just laughed. Also, I can't believe how people can't pronounce Ocala (which was native american as Ocali).

Love it! We’re from a VERY small area in the Florida panhandle known as Cerro Gordo, off the Choctawhatchee River. A little ways north of Sopchoppy and Wewahitchka. This was probably one of my favorite episodes!!

Well, actually, I live in the Eau Gallie area and the pronunciation depends on who you’re talking to. Old timers from back before it became part of Melbourne call it Oh Golly, like oh golly, gee whiz.
