@@deepyaa3392 Firstly, there is no pun in the statement. America has a long history of invading countries mainly in the gulf for the oil reserves they have, so the guy compared the dish with the middle eastern countries to give it a comical spin. No one can beat us North eastern in eating Hottest Spiciest vutjolokia
We Indians are thinking in Western terms when we equate spiciness to hotness. They are different. Any dish with Bhoot Jolakia in it will be very high on the Scoville meter and the Scoville test is a test of hotness. A spicy dish means a dish which has a lot of different spices add to it. Therefore, a test of spiciness should be how many spices are in it and not how hot is it to taste.

Being a Bengali (and having heritage from East Bengal before Division), Shutki Maach is one of my most favorite foods. In childhood, I used to wait eagerly when my mother would make Shutki Mach. It was the greatest delightful home made treat. That was the foundation of eating spicy food in my life, I believe. But when Bhut Jholokia entered my life, it changed my perception of spiciness. There is shop in Delhi/Gurgaon called Monty's Wings who sells only chicken wings. They a have special bhut jholokia version - 8 chicken wings cooked covered in the spiciest chili paste/sauce of India. My friend stopped eating just after 2 pieces and I devoured the 6 wings. OMG! what a experience that was. Orgasmic Pleasure in the form of Demonic pain - that would be the accurate description. I drank 5 cans of beer to save myself from the spice satan, it did neutralize the effect on my tongue after few hours but neither I became drunk nor my inner burning stopped. Even after 1.5 days, when I went to pee, it was burning. Suddenly, after that my spice handling quotient increased manifold - and that's really awesome.

Said that India’s spicy food but tried only North Indian dishes 🤔😏
@vanamalaswathi53314 жыл бұрын
Exactly, we didn't find any south Indian dishes at all... They're so self centric of themselves... They don't even consider south India as a part of them... According to me, south India has a lot more spicy food than North...
@danthetracker4 жыл бұрын
Problem is yours if you consider 5 states as south and the remaining as north. India has East ans West too and I am not a north Indian. Piro aloo - East Rista - North Laal Maas - West Shutki mach - East Naga chicken - North East Yes they haven't covered South and Central but it's untrue that they only tasted North Indian foods
@vanamalaswathi53314 жыл бұрын
@@danthetracker summary is that they didn't include South Indian cuisine right??
@danthetracker4 жыл бұрын
@@vanamalaswathi5331 in part 2 they did...But in 1 and 2 they mostly tried highlander foods and in fact you won't be getting spicier food than theirs in whole India..
@danthetracker4 жыл бұрын
But admit it, considering 21 states as North is not right..I don't like when people from southern state call me North Indian because I am not..And I guess the others feel that too...

Not necessarily all the shutki you cook have spices. It depends on how much spice you use.BTW I love shutki which are more spicy especially "Loitta Shutki".
