My name is Aljaz Salkic and I am paragliding pilot and filmmaker from Slovenia. In todays video I wanna share with you one great hike and fly spot located in Slovenia - under Julian Alps its called lake Bohinj! Absolutely one of my favourite spots for paragliding in Slovenia. This paragliding take off is sitting just above the lake and views from up there are always magical!

If you ever travel Slovenia make sure you stop by this amazing lake Bohinj and experience true Alpine fresh air! This place is nested in hearth of Triglav National Park so you must respect certain rules along your journey here! Hiking Slovenia is probably one of the best ways to explore beautiful mountains, Julian Alps, hiking trails, wild places and more!
For paragliding Triglav National Park is very limited. You can’t take off from most of mountains (Julian Alps), so if you’re around make sure you check which take offs are registered for paragliding within Triglav National Park (TNP). If you focus on Bohinj there are 3 places just next to lake Bohinj with amazing view on Julian Alps - Vogar which we are smashing on in this paravlog, then you also have Vogel and Studor.

Nice Video! I was there in 2019, stayed at the camping site nearby Ukanc directly at the lake. Only 200m to the cable car and to the easy starting site at Vogel. It is a very beautyful, amazing area, I flew several times across the lake, around the lake, to and above mount Triglav. Very nice, friendly and helpful people at the paragliding club nearby the landing site, thank you! For sure, this will not be my last time there!

You will love Slovenia nature 🔥 good idea to bring glider :)) it’s a MUST have!! 😁🔥 In TNP it is actually illegal to take off and land.. only allowed on registered sites. I highly recommend Vogar or Vogel which is exactly the one on this video! Epic scenery above lake Bohinj and flip you fly from Vogel you get Epic view to Julian Alps. Then I really recommend Mangar summit or Mangartsko Sedlo take off.. insaneee scenery!

Thank you! Take of is called Vogar and it is above lake Bohinj - this are coordinates to parking spot that’s right next to landing zone (46.2819225, 13.8819906) . You can see the take off from there and you can hike from there up. Have fun in the area ☀️🤩

Thanks buddy!! Yeah its possible to fly with speedwing however not the smallest sizes in zero wind. Also landing is not that close so in most cases is just straight flight down...depends on wing you have :))

Well lake Bohinj is not the largest lake. It's only 3,3 km² but Cerkniško lake is 38 km². Peace!
