I don't know Minecraft well, but when the lightening strikes couldn't you just enclose yourself into a completely closed off room with no door until the man disappears? UPDATE: Never mind. I see he can dig. Maybe he can't break through tougher walls. Make a strong room and close up the door entirely with the same material???

"Herobrine" is the name of a fabled character (a bit of an urban legend, if you will) in Minecraft. He is rumored to be the brother of the original developer of the game that passed away. He digs 2x2 tunnels in your world and is very elusive. Minecraft version update notes included "removed Herobrine from the game" for several years. If you look up the name, you'll find all sorts of interesting theories and articles :)
