Character weight counts in a race. Heavier characters are slower and lighter characters can be pushed more

SwimminginShoyu heavier characters aren’t slower, they just take longer to build up speed, but they also maintain it longer. Dry Bones is(I’m pretty sure?) the fastest in the game at full momentum

SwimminginShoyu heavier characters are honestly faster, and they’re also harder to knock off their course when you run into them compared to lighter characters. They take longer to accelerate but that’s the only issue

@@serena9850 Your weight class affects your acceleration, a lighter weight class has faster acceleration which we as the player better perceive as speed because they can go faster in a shorter amount of time. Heavier weight classes have higher speed but can't accelerate as fast which means every time you get hit you are basically reset and take a long time to speed up.

So um... there are differences in characters. Heavy characters have higher top speeds but low acceleration and light characters are the opposite. In this game there are 6 different weights that affect speed, handling and acceleration.

there is a HUGE difference in characters!! their mass changes the acceleration of the character and the handling. along with the mass of the vehicle and wheels (etc.) the ability to play changes.

there is actually a difference between characters in mario kart. Each character in Mario Kart belongs to one of three different weight classes: Light, Medium and Heavy. As you'd expect, lighter characters have lower overall speed but also much faster acceleration, while heavier characters get off the grid more slowly but have a zippier maximum speed.

As someone who played in tournaments for Mario Kart there is definitely a difference in character because of weight classes (featherweight, lightweight, etc.): Your weight class partially determines Acceleration, Speed, Steering, how easily you get pushed around...(Me as Baby Mario getting thrown off the course by DK). The weight classes do equal themselves out though especially in casual play.

Some character do have a different weight then other characters I also noticed that they have auto steering. the yellow light flashing behind their cart makes it so even if they are not playing the carts are guided around the course just at a slower pace (it also ensures that no one is stuck at a corner or something).
