NOTES and thoughts in chronological order: > In Blitzo's hallucination, it is disorganized, messy, and ugly. This is how Blitzo sees himself in his mind. > Note the clothes of Blitzo, a clown costume, sure he worked as a circus performer before, but what if Blitzo sees himself as a bad joke or a clown in real life? > Striker, Fizzaroli, Verosika, and Stolas in Blitzo's bad trip are people of interest to Blitzo. Striker is an interest as he is the one that planted the seeds of doubt as seen in ep.5. Fizzaroli is an interest as he is most likely the instigator of Bltzo's trauma, if you observe, Fizzaroli is drawn like those old Micky mouse cartoons, meaning that he's the oldest form of memory and oldest form of trauma. Verosika is an interest as she is the latest "functional" relationship that Blitzo had before Stolas. When compared to the other two, Verosika is "dirtier" looking or more "tainted", this is how Blizo sees her, because he knows that it's his fault. > What Verosika says is what Blitzo thinks she thinks about him. If you focus enough, Blitzo is the one talking as Verosikas voice, along with the other characters. > As Verosika has said, Blitzo seems to push away people who might get too close to him. This is most likely due to his trauma, so he deflects and blames it on others to the point they resent him. And as we have seen, Blitzo is keeping Stolas at arm's length as he focuses more on the bad aspects of Stolas, finding more self-made reasons to push Stolas back to not get overly close and attached. > Stolas on top of the stairs, Blitzo, like what Moxxie said, craves affection, Stolas being on the top of the elevated stairs means that Stolas is Blitzo's way of escaping the mess that he is. > Also the two silhouettes beside the sitting Stolas is also Blitzo > Blitzo, before going up the stairs, was dropped on by some gooey stuff, which could indicate how dirty he feels, emotionally. And by climbing the stairs to Stolas, he believes that I would clean him from all his tainted thoughts and bad experiences, some of which he caused > The chains that wrap around Blitzo could signify his slavered reliance on Stolas. The book is what keeps them together. > The reason why Blitzo adopted Loona, from what I think, is that Blitzo craves intimacy, but in this case, parental intimacy. He’s giving Loona something that he didn’t have, a loving and caring father, but what about the mom? More on that later > The summoning circle that the dead agents drew to summon Stolas is a Biblically accurate summoning circle from The Lesser Key of Solomon. > Stolas can't actually hurt the humans as he is restricted by the rules of the summon. Summoned demons can not hurt their summoner, that's why Agent 2 is still fine. That and Stolas is canonically a pacifist and rarely uses force or goes to violence. Or so speculations say. > Remember that sound I said in ep3? Where Blitzo was trying to tune out all the things that he doesn't want to hear. > Dogs do in fact can not see red as they are red/green colorblind, or something along those lines. It's dark and theres red light, so Loona is probably seeing a lot of dark grays and can't read properly. > All in all, this episode somewhat explores the trauma, problems, and personal hell of Blitzo > This is how Blitzo copes with his problems. He makes rude jokes, he becomes rude to others so much that they would "hate" him. Blitzo has built a wall around himself to protect himself from being hurt anymore. And anyone who tries to enter, he rudely shoves away, even those who want to help him or care for him, ie. Verosika. Right now, it would seem that he has some sort of feelings for Stolas, but if he were to go over the wall, he would leave himself vulnerable to attacks, so it is most likely in his attention to just protect himself and save himself the trouble. > Blitzo seems to crave intimacy and hopes to be with Stolas, but he can't see himself as being an equal partner with the Prince overall, no matter what their 'activities' are like. > Apparently Blitzo also wants to have recognition, he wants people to respect him, that's why he started his own business. Again, might be missing some stuff.

I feel like people don't talk about a certain line Blitz says in Moxxie's trip when Moxxie is asking Blitz why he keeps pushing people away. "I don't know, eventually everyone goes." Ouch. That line made me really feel for Blitz. The feeling that you can't get too close to anyone because they're going to leave and you don't want to get too attached and get hurt. This is my favorite episode, and DAMN that line. Blitz's whole trip is saying similar things, but having Blitz even say it in Moxxie's trip for some reason makes it hit harder for me.

Moxie's dream sequence is drawn in a very Disneyesque style, and the scene is very inspired by Phantom of the Opera. I just really enjoy everything Richard Horvitz has been in, as he has such a distinctive voice (and is a very good singer).

One thing i think a lot of people ignore or dont see in this episode is stolas litteraly calling blitzø his little play thing directly after he has that awful trip I honestly believe this solidified blitzes thought that stolas is just using him

What stuck out to me the first time I watch was the way that Loona fought. It wasn't simple brawling tactics, it was martial arts. It kind of rounds things out, and gives everyone their own style. Blitz: general Jack of all trades; Moxie: firearms; Millie: melee weapons; and Loona: hand to hand combat.

What I find most interesting about the acid trips is that in both respective trips, Blitz has a negative reaction to being told he’s going to die alone, even in Moxxie’s acid dream! I think it just further cements that fact

You said Ghostbusters! You. You get me. Hard to spot but hilarious - the "first sighting" the agents zoom in on at the beginning, before it's zoomed in on his face, is Blitzo watching horses in a pasture. There's a Blitzo-loves-horses moment somewhere in almost every episode. I've never seen the Cats musical either, but my understanding is that it is not normally about ugly horny cats - and then the recent movie adaptation *was*, and everyone was horrified because WHY. So I bet that's what Moxxie recommended to poor Blitz. Shoulda gone with Sweeney Todd. Hallucination-Stolas on his throne has two shadowy Blitzes fanning him, which suggests Blitzo may be very aware that he is a kind of servant to Stolas, not that different from the phone-holding imp who both Stella and Stolas casually knock around. I love the way Blitzo stops during the fight to try and support/encourage Loona, Moxxie and Millie, as though he's learned from the hallucination. And in fact I don't remember him insulting Moxxie after this. Kinda miss it, weirdly...

The Cats musical really isn’t that bad. It’s based on a book of silly poems about cats written by T. S. Elliott, and it’s not meant to be taken too seriously. It’s silly and ridiculous and just plain fun. The movie didn’t understand that at all and that’s where it went horribly, horribly wrong. Just stick to the original Broadway version, and remember that it’s intended to be silly fun and nothing more.

*EDIT: i just realized you watched all the lastest episodes in bulk so you couldn't see this to keep in mind during the rest of the show lol. i'm keeping up the comment half cause I spent way too long writing it and half cause maybe it'll be helpful for whenever new episodes come or anyone else who might like to take what i have to say into consideration hahah* the show really goes hard on the musical aspect from now on so I hope you'll still like the next episodes lol😅. i personally love musicals so if i have any advice is to pay attention to the melody as well as the lyrics, because the song might be using music you've heard before, like a character's theme or a score the show usually uses during certain kinds of scenes. of course you don't need to, but it does usually give you some interesting or unique insight into what some lyrics mean, or what the character is feeling/remembering while singing. another thing about musicals more than other kinds of music, that i feel like this show excels at is that the VAs are voice-acting just as much as they're singing. this is a good thing to focus on if the musical aspect of it is not your thing, specially since it's in animation, you can't see the VA's face as they're singing, so they have to pour all of that emotion into their voice only while still staying in character. so keep an eye out for things like their voice breaking, changes in their tone, certain characters' mannerisms, etc. because they end up being just as important for storytelling as they are for the song itself. WOW i went on a rant lmao. idk just props to the people who make the music for this show because it's all so fire🔥🔥
