People don't realize that on a vegan diet you HAVE to eat more for the first few months in order to feel satiated. Your body eventually adjusts, because plant protein breaks down faster than protein from animal products, meaning it passes through the body wayyyyy faster. Zucchini noodles are also just awful they have almost 0 calories and are mostly water-based. What I would recommend for anyone wanting to do this, especially if they want to stay low carb, is to eat coconut or soy yogurts which help with digestion, large salads with tofu or beans for protein, and hey, Amy's frozen pizza (although its not low carb) is literally a vegan's best friend because it tastes AMAZING.
@Lioness0065 жыл бұрын
I would have to go beans on salad bc I just can't do tofu. I love garbanzo beans, kidney beans, eggs, and sunflower seeds on salads and I like a mix of spinach, romaine, and butter lettuce, as well as cabbage. They didn't say this diet was supposed to be fully vegan, did they? Eggs are full of protein and filling, so they shouldn't be against the rules, so I don't know why none of them went the egg route. Or do eggs count as dairy? Meh.
@ladya76235 жыл бұрын
@@Lioness006 Idk if they said the diet had to be completely plant based, but many of them were referring to it as "vegan". And as for the beans you mentioned, I love them as well! Hummus is a vegan's best friend. As for the eggs, they are not dairy, so I'm not sure why they didn't eat them if the diet wasn't strictly plant based. Maybe because of the cholesterol?
@Lioness0065 жыл бұрын
@@ladya7623 Maybe, but there have been studies that dietary cholesterol, doesn't affect your overall cholesterol as much as most people think. And as long as you don't eat more than 2 eggs a day and eat a relatively balanced and healthy diet otherwise, it shouldn't really be a problem. Maybe they just didn't think of it? A hardboiled egg and some oatmeal with fruit and some crushed almonds or walnuts and a splash of coconut or almond milk would be filling and decently healthy. Or Oatmeal with peanut butter and almond/coconut milk. Steelcut Whole Oats are a good complex carb that is high in fiber, which means it helps lower cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar and is a good source of iron. Even when I was borderline type 2 diabetic, it was still recommended bc of the benefits. I love hummus so much. The Trader Joe's Mediterranean Style Hummus is my all time fave. Especially with their tandoori naan, or veggies or on a wrap. j
@ladya76235 жыл бұрын
@@Lioness006 I've read those studies, but many people haven't and many diets still follow the anti-cholesterol mind frame. Just like studies proving the negative effects consuming cow's milk has, these studies are just beginning to spread into public awareness. But right!? I don't know one person who doesn't like some hummus on a nice pretzel thin or baby carrot. It's the perfect food with the right amount of carbs, lipids, and protein, wrapped up into a smooth and delicious spread that can be flavored savory or sweet.
@Lioness0065 жыл бұрын
@@ladya7623 I love eggs and I had to know, so I did my research, lol. I do like milk though and other dairy products. I don't think I could give it up completely. I've met people that didn't like hummus and I can't understand it. lol But I think for some it's a texture thing or they didn't have a good flavorful one. Some of the store-bought ones are pretty bland. Except the Trader Joes one. lol I like the pita crisps too. Hummus is good in a pita pocket with veggies like lettuce, cabbage, spinach, onion, cucumber, alfalfa sprouts, and some turkey or falafel. Some people may like tomato, but I don't. The pita sandwich would have a lot of protein and fiber to fill you up and keep you full for a while. Yum. Now I want some hummus! lol

you’ve also got to remember that Beyonce probably has her own chef to make amazing meals for her. Making the diet meals is a huge part of the struggle to stick to the diet, when you cba or don’t know what to cook, you’re more likely to start caving and give in. @@Hazeydaze92 but saying that the Lack of B12 caused anything if you took enough supplements cant really be true because it is given to animals in their food so the meat is enriched so you Just Take it directly. Im not a doctor of course but maybe you didnt Take enough ? I never Heard of a scientific study that If you eat a careful and rich vegan diet that U can Lack anything but B12 and Vitamin D, but some of my Friends also told me that their hair Fell Out when they went vegetarian. I would Love a scientific explanation for it, because it seems to have an Effect on some people

Omg it was so hard to hear them all in the beginning say they couldn't go a day without meat or that meat/fish t is the only source of protein, LENTILS BEANS CHICKPEAS people!!! Basically people just need to eat less meat, it's good for the animals, the environment and you 🤗🤗
@1991aies5 жыл бұрын
Yes so true! I cut out sugary drinks and most meat in my diet, and i have lost 7kg in 2 months without even making an effort! I also feel much more at peace with myself for making better choices for the environment and animal welfare

Technically tho if they were going no carb as they were supposed to they couldn't have had that. It's not just a vegan diet, it's no carbs which...idk how Beyonce did that

Kudos to all of you for doing this. Diets are tough! You have to keep in mind though: Beyoncé has money. She has personal trainers, chefs , whatever her heart and stomach desires, she just has to say it and have a chef cater to her. “I’m craving a burger, make it vegan” Chef goes and works his magic, expertise and comes up with it and I guarantee you, it tastes a amazing. There’s no comparison with little ol’ us average people with the advantages that celebrities have.

Exactly! When you actually do the research and eat PROPERLY to still get the nutrients you need, you wouldn't feel like crap all the time... 😣
