You are absolutely correct. My husband carries a 40 when we go walking down the rail trail with our daughter. Also, be careful in the spring and do not get in between momma and baby. Several people in WV have had fatal results from not knowing. Praying for you both with safety and the fur babies, God bless.

Shanon, the insulation around the bottom of the cabin looks GREAT. Plus, the WHITE really is spectacular against the stain. I'm sure the insulation does a good job keeping the inside warmer. I hope you either keep what you've installed, or, when you replace it, you also use something white. Fantastic job. So happy Bruno is getting along with the cats. Hopefully, they won't have a problem with Hercules either. Cats are very smart, and they shouldn't be tempted to go into the goat pen, so should be safe. LOOKING GOOD, GUYS~~~~~

Hi Guys - I live in west central Alberta. We have bears - black bears and grizzlies, cougars, coyotes, wolves and just about every other carnivore you can think of - no gators. LOL You may want to watch out for any pet food left outside. Cat food is very delicious to other animals. Once a bear gets a sniff of food, it is very hard to convince them to leave after that. Luckily for us our bears hibernate in the winter, but it is a constant battle in the spring, summer and fall. Love ya guys. Hi Spruce!

I laughed when I heard about Bruno and his trip next door. And the chicken nugget. It's been cold here in Kenosha Wisconsin also. Right now it's 1° and later tonight it's supposed to get down to -6°. We live within a few miles from the Great Smoky Mountains Nation Park of TN and we see bears all the time. They should be hibernating right now (it's single digits with snow). Our problem is the tourists illegally feed the bears and try to take selfies with the bears (crazy people). So, the bears want more food so they follow the people down the mountain and into town (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville). It's illegal to kill the bears here. We have to call the Forestry to come out to trap them.

Heated mattress pad works so much nicer than an electric blanket--high to warm up the bed, turn down after you get comfortable! I love mine and so much better than an electric blanket. They also make them washable too, so you can wash it when you change sheets. Shanon you did a good job, anything to keep your tootsies warm!

Don’t you have anymore of that wire netting you used on the coop cause you could wrap some of that around those wooden stick things you have in the coop and make a fenced off place for their food and liter. Without having to do a lot of anything! Just a thought!! Or even pu a smaller not so tall section across the front door so the kitties can come and go but Bruno cannot get in!

The birds don't sleep in the coop because, it's not safe. They don't/can't feel secure in there asleep without a door or some sort of protection, anything can come in there & pick them off while they're asleep. They feel safer up in the trees. Maybe put a door up & they'll go in & put a chicken door in that opens & closes on a timer?.
