Hi! Did you've tried to use OKHouseCat's Calimba as a reverb to a guitar? Also I really think that this THING deserves to get a big dark ambient jam with it's part in it.

Hey Billy! I’ve been making crazy noise for a couple decades and that spring Reverb kalimba makes some of the sickest tones I’ve ever heard. Could you maybe point me in the right direction if I wanted to build something that could generate those kinds of “controlled” feedback tones?

2:15 plogue chipcrusher2 and soniccharge bitspeek both have a way of resynthesizing any audio you put into them in a similar way (with varying degrees of jankiness), and plogue chipspeech actually has a circuit bending mode that makes these exact sounds!

the pitch bend on the cat keyboard reminded me of chibi robo park patrol, when you're playing music, you control the tempo by drawing circles and the speed is based on how fast you draw so it kind of has a similar wavy imperfection to it lol.

This kind of electronic sound exploration drove my parents nuts. I disassembled, modified, and broke stuff all the time. I stopped because there was no call for this stuff in any kind of marketable music in 1974. I wish I had it all back now.
@agentmith10 күн бұрын
I’m not sure the slinky’s have enough tension to function as a reverb, at least based on what I saw in the video. Any vibrations they might be picking up are dissipating in the slack. It’s like that twin can and string phone, if the string isn’t taut the sound won’t transmit.
