I experienced a disconnect, first in dubai but then during australia despite it being beautiful because it is distant so in a way it seemed like a resignation. Similarly renaming the channel to a generic name which might make sense for a tv show but loses the personality and brand recognition. And there is an impersonal real estate channel with almost identical name I understand why you did it but the loss is still real. I don't know how others experience dubai but to me it was off putting as a base of operation. If you are looking for tax havens then monaco might have much greater appeal but even beyond that I'd consider if tax haven is what you want at your stage if it costs you far more in growth on the income side. If you lose your brand. If you invest in real estate isn't that deductible anyway. What I'd say in general is that youtube is all that matters because everything springs from that. I see youtubers branch in many directions and then take youtube for granted, only for success to disappear. KZbin is all that matters and for that engagement matters. It cannot be farmed out. It cannot be distanced. Audience loyalty cannot be betrayed. Exponential youtube growth dominates anything else.

More like the working visa ran out and ‘influencer’ is not a required skill. To extend their visa they would have either had to do 3 months in hospitality or farm work. They obviously didn’t want to do that and so came back to U.K. They can only have one working visa in their life so I doubt they will be back living in Australia anytime soon.

Agree with you about the distance. I live in Southern California, and always wanted to visit Australia. I am an older person, and there is no way I'm getting on an 18-hour flight from Los Angeles to Sydney. I don't even like the 5-hour flight to Hawaii or NYC, let alone 18 hours in the air.

The Gold Coast is absolutely amazing. I live on the other side of the country, and while we have some good views on the coast, Perth doesn't have high rise apartment buildings on the coast like they do over there. I find this strange. You say that you stopped doing property filming here because you are going in a different direction. But are going back to the UK to do just that... Australia is a beautiful place and I too have been able to experience it as a local but gosh it is so so far away from Europe (and everywhere actually) and you realise how remote it is once you spend a little time there but sooner or later it will get to you - If you grew up on the old continent, at some point, guaranteed you will feel trapped and cut off there. I feel like Day to day life is easier there but the tradeoff for me wasn’t worth it. Life is too short and it really feels like living in a parallel world. Glad you’ve made your mind up! Dubai is the sweet spot. Good luck with your next adventures!

We have friends that left the UK to live in Australia and they love it. You can't beat the sunshine, natural beauty. relaxed nature and clean air in Australia. Its a great place to settle down. Personally I think Melbourne is the place to live with Sydney/ GC as a holiday destination. Melbourne has such great culture. nightlife , restaurants and worldclass sporting events like the F1, Tennis, Cricket etc

@@therunningmanz5339 Glad they love it. I did too. I am missing the part where I said ‘I didn’t love it’? Like I said ‘sooner or later’ the isolation will get to them. It’s just a matter of time. There’s a term used to describe people from the UK who moved over there and then go back and forward feeling forever unsettled/torn and that’s mainly because of the isolation/distance: Ping Pong Poms. I am happy living in Europe now. Moving halfway across the world for the beaches was not enough for me to stay. Good for them if they can manage to stay for good!

The difference in daylight hours would also be problem living in the UK or similar for me personally. Again all things that need to be weighed up.

Lots of things to factor in… Life can throw you some interesting curveballs: work, a partner, friends, environment etc for me I just knew deep down I didn’t belong there. When you live there you become ‘a passive watcher’ of the world. That said, the quality of life there is amazing and second to a very few countries.

You should try living in Gibraltar! 3hr flight direct from London, Manchester, and Bristol. cheap flights. its Britain in the sun! literally! you get the mediterranean climate and spain is a walk away. I go every weekend to go horse riding, hiking, beach, shopping, you name it! very similar to OZ (ive been there) except better for you because its not as expensive and very close to the UK. Gibraltar is fantastic for investing in real estate. a little bit like monaco! beautiful walks up the rock too! amazing community. did i mention english is the first language? definitely think you should look into it!
