Tom read both of my e-mails and responded. One of them was to help find a gunsmith to restore my Dad's pistol. MUCH appreciated. If I have gun that is unreliable I do not put it into use, period. It goes in the back of the safe or for trade.

I sold a friend my (fairly nice) S&W model 57 - 8 3/8" blued, etc. He has decided he wants to port it and have the barrel shortened. The last time he wanted to do this, his talking to MagnaPort discouraged him but he's got the bug again. One thing he did that made it easier to shoot was replacing the wood grips with a Hogue overmolded grip. I know that I shouldn't have sold it but I had the 'I wants' for some shiney new firearm (and no budget at the time). Thanks for the video! By the way, I like your dumpster fires. The background music was so loud, it became foreground music, nearly drowning out the commentary...at least for us old codgers with shot out ears!

Beretta came out with a special takedown lever for LE after Lethal Weapon came out, it lacked the little shelf that made moving it easier.. It made that slide removal grab MUCH less likely. Our Beretta rep demonstrated the technique and showed that he ended up with the complete slide assembly including a live round still in the chamber, unless the Beretta mod part was purchased. LOL.

Hats tell it all - brims straight ahead are handgun shooters/ brims backward are rifle shooters/ brims sideways do both. At least that’s how I understood it in the old (normal ) days. Keep up the good work Guys. Always interesting.

It’s funny, I’ve made the same argument about the empty chamber and most people still carry empty that I know??? Crazy. I always tell em switch to the revolver if you feel safer because you are. Also, I’d love to know what everyone’s light carry gun is. It used to be the Ruger lcp2 .380 till I got that Kimber I wrote about. Thanks Gene Yohannan

Thoroughly enjoyed your podcast regarding writing, especially Brent's comments on Pat McManus - an outdoor writer 'par excellence'. Along those same lines, if you can find a copy of "etc.", written by the late Donna Smith of Wyoming, you'll enjoy that as well, I believe. GREAT show again y'all! As to carrying with an empty chamber---don't do it---PLEASE don't do it. About 3 years ago there was a video circulating that showed a store owner trying to chamber a round as he's shot to death by the robber. Lying in the floor next to his dying son the poor guy was STILL trying (and failing) to rack the slide on what looked to be a little pocket .380. Would things have turned out differently? I don't know, maybe. If you're not comfortable with the gun you're currently packing, then, by all means, get one you ARE comfortable with---just don't do THAT!

100% disabled vet, with an aviation career. Hearing sucks. I love the guncranks. This episode? Um... the background music sucked, too loud, sorry producer guy. Made it hard for a deaf old brokenolmarine to hear the guncranks... Otherwise, great show as usual.

Regarding ‘smart’ guns. I’m all for them. I need a profitable retirement hobby. Meet me in the alley behind Mom’s Diner and I will “fix” your smart gun. I’ll use the money to buy some of the millions of ‘dumb’ guns that will be in circulation for centuries. Seriously, for controlling crime it will be about as effective as all the other ‘smart’ ideas the ‘smart’ people come up with. Because they really aren’t interested in controlling crime.

Love the show, you guys are great. BUT (knew that was coming didn't ya?) the background music is loud and annoying, and lately the opening segment sounds like a frigging infomercial for 4 Patriots. I get that they are a sponsor, and I'm sure they make good stuff, but just name them and their website and move on.
