Speaking about Greece in the 1980s, Elder Athanasios says, "I see things in general, here, in contemporary Greece and even on a universal scale, I will tell you-very bad, very bad. I begin and I finish my day with a feeling of expectation, like something is going to happen. This is not new. I have felt this for some years now. I have this feeling because as a nation we are not doing very well. We have lost all sense. We have made our immoral subconscious a public matter. We publicize and display it, and we move with a large degree of galloping apostasy. Therefore, the only thing that we can expect is the exhaustion of God's forbearance and the coming of punishment."

Father Peter , What can we say about our poor pathetic western word !!! Unfortunately Greece and Cyprus are following in the footsteps of this poor pathetic word . I Thank God as he provides for us in Greece and Cyprus , He sent us living saints to guide us . God has given us many spiritual fathers , elders , bishops and metropolitans who guide us in theses strange and difficult times we live in. Thanks for posting all the informative videos. Thank you, Father Peter. I’m starting to see that we should live every day expecting that the end is nigh… and make sure we are wise to see what the Fathers and prophets warned us of to make sure we are the remnant who are not caught unaware and unprepared.

I’ve thought to myself, I feel for those suffering in Russia/Ukraine, Turkey/Syria. Meanwhile, here in the USA it’s been pretty “easy”. It’s coming. Lord have mercy. God help us.

I compare our world to if the Three angels had entered Sodom and found 12 righteous souls there. So they come to live with Lot and become their bodyguards. “How Long my lords, will you stay?” “Until either the number of Righteous, by death or apostasy, falls below 10, at which point we shall destroy the city, or until it grows greater than 50, at which point we will spare this city and only destroy the others. This will prompt the remainder to listen to the 50.” But they waited and waited. The numbers went up and down, but for many years, would never quite break above or below 10-50. That’s the weird and frightening kind of limbo the West feels like for years, like we’re getting by on JUST barely enough righteousness to keep God’s wrath at bay just another day. That can’t go on forever, however.

While I lament the circumstance described here I can not help but consistently return to the notion that the rebellion stems not in apostasy but, rather, in an unknowing curiosity fuelled by imagination’s lure in the midst of life’s boredom, fatalism and incongruent nature to the child’s wonderment. Apostasy suggests a turning from correctness but the established religions have not produced the fruit of the kingdom on Earth. Thereby many must explore what they must, even what the Bible views as wrong.

You use a lot of out dated concepts. Apostasy is any act of self mutilation. Since we are of the same flesh, fabric to the creative force and energy (Big I, GOD), any act to harm eachother is an act of harming the creation. We are ourselves god (trinity) but a separation from the big I. The separation happened because of the state of infinity being so unbearable and intense. This plane of existence is the breeding ground for consciousness. We are meant to become more concious and sentient in this existence so that one day we may ascend this plane onto the next. The Big I, despite its infinite potential and power, is/was in a state of turmoil and loneliness. That is why it created everything and split itself and created separate consciousness. Through splitting, it formed the ability to love. By loving we mend the all's sufferng and loneliness. We are meant to ascend to meet the big I, eye to eye. However long it takes, we will loop on this plane until we ascend and are ready for the next plane.

As souls ascend, new souls are born into this dimension. The earth plunges back into unconciousness. Many old souls have ascended and this nonsense in the oscars and culture represents the birthing of new souls. That is why throughout all of human history we oscilate back and forth from rampant stupidity and selfishness to sentients and back. The big sin is self mutilation and aggrandisement.

This sounds almost like Gurdgieff’s bizarre system of “waking up” consciousness… gnostic. Without the Trinity. No Christ at the center… ignoring our Creator Who is a Person…I’ll pray for you. God revealed His Truth in the words of scripture… OT and New…
