I was fortunate to sing with the carpenters on Dec 1974 in San Carlos California. I was part of the SING ,SING A SONG childrens choir on stage. I VIVIDLY remember Karen, Her voice and how I felt when I heard her. Tori Holub brought back that same excitement! She took me right back to singing with Richard and Karen. Tori is a true treasure!

Love it, love it, love it. Tori has the voice of an angel and Jim and company absolutely nailed the rendition. So pleasing to see your enjoyment of their efforts with the tribute they are paying to Karen and Richard. Would encourage you to follow Joe leads on suggestions for more if you're as interested as you seem. He wont steer you wrong. Thanks and cheers.

Tori is an amazing young lady i grew up listening to the carpenters and oh yes tori has captured the sound of Karen but she is a fantastic singer in her own right i just love her voice and i hope she gets recognised for who she is we have an amazing young lady . here Peter Docherty

Hi there, haven't seen you in a bit. Tori Is my most recent find for an aspiring artist, following Angelina Jordan and the Warning. She has a timeless voice and an obvious love for classic music. She also covers a few other artists like Olivia Newton-John, Perry Como, Ray Charles, and others. I am hoping she gets discovered soon because she is deserving!

Hi Dan! So, I didn’t over sell it. 😊 When you said earlier your love of Carpenters, that’s my opening to introduce Tori. As you will hear from more songs, it’s her natural voice! A number of her covers, no matter the song, it’s like as if Karen was singing it. She does use some inflections but the tone and the rest is her. Thing is Tori has a substantial range. I’m going to like another cover. It’s her most recent one with Dan Wesley in the UK. This is their second effort together. In April after seeing a Tori video he was inspired to make two mini-docs on her. He was blown away by her deep Karen tones but discovered she has a high range. So he made another doc about her Olivia covers. Olivia Newton-John you say? 😮 Kinda, yeah! For their second effort they covered a duet from Xanadu. Suddenly, originally by Cliff Richard and ON-J. It’s buckle your seatbelt time again. Link below. Tori, on her channel, has loads of short videos but has built up a library of full length audio and video songs. None have achieved the view count of WOJB, yet but all are goosebump worthy in one way or another. Oh did I say she’s a multi-instrumentalist, too? Guitars, keyboards and a little (wait for it) drums. She’ll tell you she can keep a beat on those but the first two, she can play! In Suddenly, it’s the first full length video she plays in. In the shorts, loads of them. My faves are Heart’s “Crazy On You” where she’s 4 members of the band, including BOTH sisters. Also, Now & Then by The Beatles and she doesn’t sound like John, Paul, George or even Ringo! 😊 Those two shorts are a showcase, IMHO and better (longer for COY) on Instagram. @@2genreactions this is It’s Impossible, the Perry Como classic from 1970. Carpenters appeared on a Perry Como TV Special in 1974. They sang each others hits in a medley (on KZbin!). Karen wound up singing one verse of the song. Dan Wesley pondered what it might have been like if Carpenters had recorded the entire song! So he reached out to Tori (who had seen and commented on his mini-docs) to see. To his delight she responded it was a big favorite but said she couldn’t find music in her key as it was a man’s hit. Dan sent her a piano track in Karen’s key. Thus a collaboration was born. If you want to do them sequentially, then Impossible then Suddenly. I jumped Impossible for the biggest range of voice effect. But you can choose the sequence they each stand alone as, well you already know greatness level. 😊 Dan is a producer/musician/singer etc. You’ll see.
