WE'VE SWAPPED VANS!? The Truth Behind the Change | SHMUSEUM VLOG 96

We're having to say goodbye to our MS-RT Transit already... but luckily we're just swapping into a different one due to some insurance issues!
Before we delve into the new van and the spec, we've got a new toy to play with, a robotic vacuum cleaner loaned to us by Makita courtesy of Foulgers Toolstore. With a whole range of sensors, we can let the hoover map out The Shmuseum, select areas we don't want it to clean (to protect the cars) and then send it on it's way to clean up for us.
Now let's take the van out for a spin and discuss the differences between this one finished in Traffic Blue and the previous Lemon Fire one. This time we've got a long wheelbase with barn doors and we chose to add a green decal pack so it fits in with the rest of ‪@Shmee150‬'s collection.

That Makita hoover reminds me of the programmable robot my school had when I was a child in the 90s, you used to program it with arrows two forward, two backward, 1 right, 2 left etc.

Loving the van concept for the channel. It should maybe a permanent addition to the collection or even something like a Land Rover defender 110 td5. Very cool, they sound great and go very well once tuned and also the amount you can do to them is endless. It could be the ultimate team car. Loving the channel guys. Keep up the great work

You guys need an actual air compressor setup with hard lines runnign along the back wall behind the lift with multiple connection points as well as a few drop down reels near the super car line. You could then pass a fitting through the wall via hard line to give you air pressure at and near the lifts in the storage/workshop area.

Idea: Have a leaderboard for the little rally cars, one for [some computer racing game, VR SIM or otherwise] and maybe some other competitive racing thing, so guests have a choice of what they'd best like to compete in 😉

Hi Guys. Air! You can have one compressor and just install metal pipes down both sides on the walls, with connection points for rubber pipes to connect to pressure gauge. So in the end less pipes to trip over and also damage cars. Simple but really good!

Seeing the new Makita Robot Sweeper is pretty cool. Makita also makes which I'm sure your aware of an 18volt cordless air tool. I personally have one and it works great. You can set for psi/bar pressure then just hold the trigger until reached and it shuts off automatically. Has a light at front as well. There is no lock for the trigger but I have found that it pumps up tires rather quickly. No wires to mess with.

Suggest you consider a large air compressor in the building with a piped distribution system Save the cars and much faster to use Spring loaded retracting hose reels with at least 50’ of hose

Regarding running air lines for tyres etc, run steel air lines (pipes!) around the walls with a connector behind each ramp you can just plug the tyre line into. This is how industrial & workshops do it

Makita makes a battery powered air pump. Uses the same batteries as your robot. Quite slow, though... You can also find portable air tanks you can fill with a compressor. Enough air for a few cars and then you can quickly recharge it again with the compressor. No long hose to pull between the cars (mine always gets stuck, and we only have 2 cars...).

Just make sure those 20" wheels are fitted with correct weight rated tyres. Our MSRT 320 LWB was supplied with 20" wheels only minus the tyres due to them not being able to get the 'correct' weight rating. To do so we needed to have the front sill area modified to clear the correct tyre size. Send me the tyre size and spec and i will let you know if they are correct. MSRT were a bit naughty in my opinion seklling wheels that clearly couldnt have the correct tyres on without mods. And yes you can run the smaller tyres but they will be a welcome sight to an insurance inspector that refuses to pay a claim due to incorrect weight rated tyres. Get it modded or be carefull. 😉

I honestly wouldn’t permanently mount an air compressor anywhere unless you brought the car to the “station.” Why you may ask? I could imagine accidents happening like hoses rubbing along the floor picking up debris and then scratching a car or just getting stuck under tires or things like that. I think the portable solution is way better. There are way better portable and battery powered air compressors that should do the job.
