In this video we're talking about different things we've tried in Reselling.

Even though I've been selling on eBay since 2009 I haven't tried many other selling sites. I've tried Vinted and Etsy, both of which were complete failures for me whereas I'm happy with my eBay sales (I'm just about to go to the post office with 14 parcels). I'm actually retiring this year, but I think I'll continue with eBay as I have a bucket list of places I want to visit before I'm too old to enjoy them, so the extra cash will come in handy for those.

Trouble I've found is the high rate of "buyers remorse", NPBs, cancellations etc with auctions, when they've had several identical items & bid on yours in case they don't win on someone else's. Or they find they could buy it now on the same item for less. Same's slightly true of best offers people make, you need to respond almost instantly or they'll have bought from someone else before you can say "attention deficit". Auctions work best for relatively unique items where there's likely to be a high level of interest

Sorry, but the designers of those patterns have the copyright, unless you have permission from them or even the companies, then they can complain as you are breaking the law by selling copies of their products. Be careful as they also have the right to sue.

I tried Etsy, put postage UK only. Someone in Australia thought that meant freepost everywhere else in the world! Bought an item for £12 and expected me to ship it for nothing to Australia! She wasn't happy, nor was I. That was the end of my Etsy journey!

Great video! I thought etsy's fees were shocking. I sold a £14.00 item and after all their ridiculous fees got £1.68!!
@Married2Reselling4 ай бұрын
In our case when we had a lot for sale and not much sells there, the relisting fees often kills it
@daffyduk773 ай бұрын
What really sucks is getting charged fees on the delivery cost, like Royal Mail, Evri. And if an item is sold as Free P&P, I'm assuming the fee they take has 20% VAT factored in ?? If you're below VAT threshold, the whole VAT (you've paid out) thing really annoys. Only good thing is not having to deal with HMRC for VAT. Seems to me if you sell at a fixed price with an extra R M P&P, the fee Ebay charge on the latter really should not include VAT if the P&P element you specify is the precise amount you paid through EBay packing or Packlink
@ThriftWithJayne7773 ай бұрын

We sell at Toy Fairs a few times a year. Big one at the NEC. We have a stock of Funko Pops - half stay in storage for the fairs, half sell on Amazon but self fulfilled as we can ensure they are packed well and saves on fees. Not gonna get rich but nice cash boost a few times a year. Boxing Day always a good one.

I sell on mainly eBay. Have for nearly 20 years. I also sell on Facebook and it does ok. Have my own group which I sell stuff in. Marketplace not only is it full of scammers, I’ve had someone ask if they can buy mud from my shoes, if they could live in my cupboard and use them as a shoe rack, men sending photos of themselves dressed in women’s underwear and list goes on and on 😂
@Married2Reselling6 ай бұрын
Oh gosh… no day is ever the same 🤣
@daffyduk773 ай бұрын
Haha, I bet there's a market for used underwear (even including skid marks 🙂) if the right advertising could be devised to avoid T&Cs in the right forum. I don't advocate this BTW. More seriously, I've found that visibility with F.B. marketplace ads seems to drop like a stone with unsold items.

I’m actually finding a lot of success on eBay and it’s making me feel like I can do anything and when I lose my job I won’t be homeless (as much) and that’s empowering everybody should do this especially if your selling stuff I love haha there could be 1000 listing of tech decks and I’ll buy them all

Hi guys, I'm a novice to reselling, I saw on a different video you were buying stuff on auctions for under a pound an item, I was just wondering where you find these auctions because I'm struggling to source items, love the channel, its inspired me to start reselling
@Jamiedee1236 ай бұрын
Check out the auction houses in your area. Most local auctioneers have general sales every week/2 weeks/ month and sell off these sort of items, often in job lots. Remember you pay the hammer price plus the auctioneer fees (often 20 to 25 per cent), plus VAT on top of the fees. So something bought, for example, for a tenner often ends up being 13 pounds when you go to actually pay.
@Married2Reselling6 ай бұрын
Yes, as @Jamiedee123 said, it’s just a case of looking for local general auction houses in your area. Good luck!
@daffyduk773 ай бұрын
Beware that some auctions require that buyers have a "Public Liability Insurance" or similar, for when you'r picking stuff up (esp. big, heavy stuff). Sadly its introduction these days has made many business-oriented auctions impractical for some like myself who no longer sell as main source of income.
@geoffduke17636 ай бұрын
Similar to your guys experience but I haven't heard of half your places, . Poshmark was one, never sold anything on it just had scammers messaging me to email them offsite more photos. Amazon I fell out of love with very quickly, so many videos telling you how to make a fortune on it...Biggest laugh on it was the amount they gave you for post if your item sold to Europe....quickly turned that off when their £4 something didn't cover the £12+ to post the poxy book to some far flung place. Etsy was expensive fee wise and I cocked up postage with it, some balloon bought a vintage typewriter from me and wanted me to ship it to Australia for £8. I think from memory the cost of postage was just shy of £100.

I’m a KDP seller :) it’s my intention to go back to it = maybe evenings on my laptop as it can be a time sink. I got into it 2018 and published high content and children’s books and make money from those books. There are some things you kind of need to do and advertising spending rarely makes you money (it’s more to boost your rank) - but it’s necessary for the most part. It’s more involved than the KDP KZbinrs will admit.
