From dropping my phone off a viewpoint cliffside area in Kampots national park Bokor mountain to getting pelted by the rain when we left the national park it was an interesting travel day here in Kampot Cambodia. Yeah the island you saw there was Phu Qoc island …it was always belonged to Cambodia’s territory back in the day until around the 50s where it was given to Vietnam during French’s colonisation..it used to be called as Koh Tral or Tral island Cambodian still call it by that name until now ..fun fact : it actually takes way less time to be in the island from Cambodia’s territory in comparaison to Vietnam ..A frustrating and saddening history for Cambodians

Phuqoc is just 15km from Cambodia beach. While 45km from vietnam.

Before 1800s most of South Vietnam is Cambodia territoy. But including Saigon. But Vietnam policy extent territory to the south final after franch arrive South Vietnam were mix of Cambodian and Vietnamese. After Franch leave they give it to vietnam. But Phuquc still ib dispute but fillnaly vietnam successfully take it. Currently there are still millions of Cambodian (Khmer) live in south vietnam.

@@TonyOi old is gold. Historical stuff. We hv 18th century church there, and many 19th century churches in good condition. Of course other places of worship are also maintained well.
