I'm sorry...when Amber hears the horns and throws up her hands.... its one of the most beautiful sights I've seen in ages. Her sheer joy is angelic and so pure. She's such a treasure and I appreciate her so much for showing us the simple joys of life. God bless you both... bringing us together with music. The world is a better place because of you two!

Old or new, music's to be enjoyed,on one's own or sharing the experience. The Logical Song is one of the first songs I ever bought. 7" vinyl single. April 1979. Cost me 79p. I was 14. Absolutely love it,so many great elements and that break with the sax is brilliant.

It is, but when you listen to "Crime of the Century" and "Even in the Quietest Moments", they're at a whole different level. But they're not "upbeat" like "Breakfast in America", and maybe that's why they're less popular, even though they're far superior musically.

That sax solo is a perfect counterpoint to all the heaviness that led up to it. I love the sax. And the castanets interspersed in it. You rarely hear them in pop music. Supertramp were a group that knew how to be fun and joyful and silly in their music while being very introspective and sometimes dark in the lyrics. It’s a full emotional rollercoaster ride with them

I remember back in the eighties when I was a kid someone in my family had bought the Breakfast in America album and my older sister, brother and I sang along to the whole album each having our own parts and it was a memory I treasure to this day. Later on in my life I realized that the lyrics to this song reflect a lot of my life especially the part about being sent away as when I was a teen I was put into an inpatient program for mental health issues, and it means so much more to me now. I love your reactions to these videos of songs that mean so much to me.

Both Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies really understand the Human Psyche..put to lyrics. They deeply wrote about serious psychological pain and joy. Almost like no other Musicians in the Industry. The band found a way to relate to the youth and common man of every generation. Not only that but they helped us survive and navigate through it all. That's what their music has meant to the world of listeners..who genuinely love them. ❤️

If you (and/or she) are liking that sax vocal interplay, you could try bob james/david sanborn's version of "since I fell for you", with Al Jarreau on vocals. A little further try David Sandborn's "back again" and "love will come someday", with Michael Sembello (sung "maniac" from the movie "flashdance"). Similar sax vocal interplay. Last, and a little more on a tangent, Al Jarreau does guest vocals on Hiram Bullock's version of "you send me (old doo wop hit)", only it's guitar and vocals, but the same interplay. One more I thought of while typing. Natalie Cole from her tribute album to her father, "that Sunday, that summer". Nice sax solo with her vocal there too. Sorry, they keep coming to me. Same Natalie Cole album, the song "tenderly". The only thing is with this is, on the album it's the middle song of a 3 song medley, but for listening, all 3 songs are still beautiful.

John Helliwell was amazing on the horns. He is so talented and underrated. Please review “like a cannonball”, “better days”, “Bonnie”, “Its a hard world”, “brown shoes”, “even the quietest moment”, “no return”, and “some things never change”. You will experience horns, pianos, guitars, and musicianship that is simply awesome. This band doesn’t get the credit it’s due. When they lost Rodger Hogson, many thought that the band was finished. They proved the world wrong. Rick Davies was the other voice and his music is masterful and brings another element. They made a strong return on the “brother where you bound” album and even invited David Gilmour to play a mean guitar riff on the title track. It was a new sound with a taste of Pink Floyd. I saw this concert in Frankfurt, Germany and I knew that Supertramp would survive. This album release had tracks that touched on the Cold War and recession of the early 80s. Our world was changing and people were seeking hope, peace, and looking to a positive future. Please review these; you won’t regret it. It’s rock, jazz, blues, and some pop all blended into one group. This band is hip and managed to stay up with the times. Keep Supertramp alive Jay and Amber. Love you both.

This was maybe the most popular band and album during my teenage years (In Germany), kind of a common denominator among all kids in my year. What impressed me evermore was how they were able to implement rhythm in songs like Cannonball, and School is certainly another huge song from them. The Live album "In Paris" was huge as well, and then Roger Hodgson, the lead singer, also ahead a very successful album here in Germany (I think it was called eye in the storm). Also famous when CDs came out, and this album was played together with Dire Straits to test the amplifiers and loudspeakers....
