And that's why he said in the movie that it felt like he was born in the void - his "timeline was pruned" before it ever existed. There is so much metaphorical meta-commentary in this movie, about the life and death of movie series, and giving characters the send-off they deserve. Just like the concept of "anchor beings", without whom a timeline unravels, is a great metaphor for the way a movie or TV series can fizzle out and die, when that _one_ key actor leaves, or they kill off that _one_ character that the audience came here to see.

Blade was the FIRST ever Marvel "superhero" movie, even before the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies, so his cameo here meant a lot for OG fans. This is also great fan service for all those that have watched every Marvel movie/show/property, and why each one of those (even if not that great) matter. Also, the reason why Channing Tatum was featured as Gambit (and not the original, Taylor Kitsch, which I would have preferred) is that Tatum has voiced his desire to be Gambit for a long time, so it was good "fan service", kind of like how John Krasinski cameo'ed as Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) in Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness, because a lot of people, like a lot, were fan-casting him before Pedro Pascal was cast as the "real" Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming Fantastic 4 movie.

That's Wesley Snipes as Blade (The Daywalker; because sunlight does not affect him as it does other vampires). The "Blade" movie released in 1998 is informally considered the beginning of the MCU. Before this, it wasn't clear if Marvel Comics IPs could do well in the cinema. Also, in the movie "Blade: Trinity" (3rd movie in the Blade trilogy, released in 1994), Ryan Reynolds co-stars as a character named Hannibal King. This is why Deadpool is speaking to Blade like they have a friendship/beef from the past. It was rumored that during the filmmaking, Snipes and Reynolds grew to hate each other for some reason.
@ZirakFFM2 ай бұрын
Blade is the first "really successfull" movie based on a Marvel caracter , but it's not the first Marvel movie, and it was never considered the beginning of the MCU, not even informally, neither were the Spider-Man movies with Tobey and Andrew, nor the X-men and fantastic four movies... MCU wasn't even a thing at that time. You can't be considered the beginning of something that didn't even exist before 10 more years lol. MCU is about movies and tv shows linked together in the same universe with references between them, the first MCU movie is and always will be the first Iron Man movie with RDJ. "Before this, it wasn't clear if Marvel Comics IPs could do well in the cinema." Well before Blade, there was only one try with a caracter most people didn't know (Howard the Duck) so it's difficult to say that. But i mean, Before Blade's release, there already were many successfull Superman and Batman movies, so people did know sucessfull movies based on comics Ips were possible, so it could have technically been possible for Marvel too, but it would have needed a caracter like Spider-man, Thor or something like that instead of Howard the Duck haha. :D

MCU To Make Sweeping Changes After Phase 4 Disappointment Claims Report Here is some chat about this as well below erikthered25 quote- I'm sick of all this fan fiction surrounding phase 4. It took 14 years for Marvel fans to become just as nitpicky, entitled, and unsatisfiable as Star Wars fans lol I get it You didn't like some of the content, You don't have to. Some of the content did not totally link up together, so what. Feige has already said that was done by design to take some of the pressure off the fans and their creatives so they wouldn't have to watch everything that comes out. It was clear to me that the overarching theme was the rise of other heroes to fill the gap now that the avengers have been disbanded after The Infinity war saga. After such a successful 10 years this was the perfect time to do such a thing. I'm so glad Marvel isn't run like WB or else they would have canceled everything based on a few fan videos and Twitter complaints lol I personally enjoyed all of it. I enjoyed all the movies and TV shows. If you ask non MCU fans they enjoyer the movies they even enjoyed Thor love and thunder. It's only this very loud MCU vocal minority that's running around screaming the building is on fire. The Marvel Universe has gotten to the point where they're not living and dying on movies ergo they can now experiment, do different things, even reach for the sky and fail in order to figure out what works and what doesn't work. Phase IV was an experimental phase for the MCU. This experimental phase was needed in order to grow the brand. If you look at it that way you'd realize that phase four was much more successful than people give it credit for. People are saying with the Ant-Man trailer phase 5 looks like a return to form. It only looks like a return to form because phase four was the experimental phase and now they've returned to The old Marvel way of doing things. Phase 4 was a great phase. I believe folks Will eventually look back on phase four years later and see it was a pivotal time in the MCU and it was needed to push the MCU brand into different directions. _____________________ Kris Hite quote- This whole "everything has to fit together" thinking is the main problem. People have that mindset and it is just ruining everything. Yes the first 3 phases were leading to something, but even then alot of movies really had nothing to do with the ongoing plot outside of a post credit scene. Phase 4 was about setting up new heroes and villains for phase 5 and 6, but people have no patience for this _________ Joshua Engelmann quote- Phase Four was fine. It was just a very vocal minority that decided the MCU was over after Endgame that was the complainers. However it did feel like too many projects as much as I liked them all. ___________ Johnny82Utah quote- It's funny I'm sure those who are complaining about the volume of projects in phase 4 were the ones clamoring for them to explore more things like phase 4 has. I'm certainly all for volume the more the better as far as I'm concerned as long as it stays true to what the MCU is as a whole. I disagree with John in that the connectivity is what makes the MCU special and can really enhance the experience. Spider-Man No Way Home bringing in the past Spider-Man films as Canon is not only fantastic as a viewer but gave a lot of hope as to what was to come. ________ $tr@nq3 quote- I have a few criticisms but over all I thought Phase 4 was awesome. It is the most creative and unique the superhero genre has ever been and for that alone I give Marvel so much props. All i can say is that I will be there for every show and movie they release. ________ KrisK A Sass quote- I have no complaints. I love Disney+ shows and cant wait for more. Bring it all !! ________ BQNash quote- What Marvel has accomplished during a pandemic is nothing short of amazing. I'm with them till the end of the line. _________ SharpPieces quote- Disney+ is the greatest gift to the MCU . Brought us stories and characters we would never see on the big screen _______ KaosDrago quote- ___________ Darnell quote- Yeah I don’t really get the people complaining. If you haven’t liked most of the content lately that’s fine but, to act like phase 1 told us everything that was coming is some revisionist nonsense. Phase 1 was Thanos as big bad and infinity stones. Phase 4 is Kang as big bad and the multiverse. They’ve literally given the same amount of info. Just have to wait n see how it comes together

Nova is NOT the ancient one from Strange. They would've def gotten Tilda Swinton if it was, but she was not an evil character so it would've have made any sense to make her the villain.

The ancient one was a sorcerer who use the dark dimension to extend her life and collect knowledge to make herself one of the most magic beings in MCU. Cassandra Nova is a psychic alien parasite who was drawn to Charles Xavier psychic potential in the womb then become a clone or twin of Charles. Charles eliminated Cassandra in the womb but her psychic residence solely formed matter creating a new body over time in a similar way The living planet ego formed the very planet surrounding his core. In Loki season 2 Mobius describes a variant he was supposed to eliminate but Renslayer eliminate the child instead which got her promoted as a judge in the TVA. The sling ring Cassandra uses has a reality Stone and time Stone which gave it the power to multiverse travel. Usually a sling ring can only take you to another place in space or another dimension. The ring can't take you to another universe directly only through dimensional travel where you can travel to another universe from that dimensional space.

Jennifer Garner as Electra was in the original Daredevil movies with Ben Affleck. I think they only did one, but she had a spinoff movie I believe and it didnt do too well. She was my childhood crush though after seeing her in that movie and omg it was so good to see her again. Also, Blade walking in blew my fn mind!

@48:40 "I've literally never seen a movie with this many credits it's insane." You literally have: The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although I can't remember if you've watched the Extended Cut or not. I watched it at the theaters and I really enjoyed it. Hugh Jackman was just born to play Wolverine as he can keep playing Wolverine till he’s in his 80s/90s. Ryan Reynolds was great as well as Deadpool as he brings that sense of humor to this character and balances it out brilliantly with the action and the comedy. Everyone else was great as well including Chris Evans as Johnny, Channing Tatum as Gambit, great to see Wesley Snipes back as Blade, Jennifer Garner as Elektra etc. That opening sequence is just amazing and probably one of the best one I’ve seen so far as they matched the action and the music pretty well. This movie was a blast. Keep up the great work y’all

Great stuff guys! ❤ As many have mentioned, please watch defenders after watching daredevil s2. Defenders is actually quite pivotal to the season 3 storyline. It’s not as great as Daredevil but it’s still pretty high quality. You’ll get lost if you watch season 3 without Defenders. No need of watching any of the other individual character shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist or Luke Cage, though.

Other than Secret Invasion, I wouldn’t say they hit a low point that bad. We still had a lot of great hits since Endgame, and I’m not just talking about Spider-Man. For example, Guardians Volume 3. It was the perfect way to cap off their story that expanded nearly a decade. We also had Loki season 2. Even if we don’t see him again, they closed out his story in a beautiful manner.
@swaybravo78992 ай бұрын
I agree that it hasn’t really hit a low point, some stuff just works & some stuff doesn’t. I do think even though it’s 2 & 3 years away that the saga is coming to an end too soon but they could just be trying to get away from the multiverse at this point

The mcu is at a very low point and that is the reason why products like black widow,shang-chi,eternals,doctor strange 2,ms marvel,she-hulk,quantumania,the marvels and echo were so bad that they failed

@@RM-qj8cs @RM-qj8cs Most of mcu movies after endgame have been hits,not missess when it comes to box office and on average most got positive rt scores from critics and audiences. So deadpool saying the mcu has been miss after miss is just copying what certain youtubers(grifters) was saying and of course they are wrong. Oh and most mcu multiverse projects in phase 4 and 5 have been all really successful,from the last spiderman mcu movie,to doctor strange 2,to loki and deadpool.The only one to flop was ant-man 3 and even that made it's money back later that year after it left the big screen. Most of phase 4 and 5 are not multiverse projects anyway.

The reason why X23 looks so different today is because Dafne Keen, the actress who plays her, was 11 years old when Logan was filmed and 18 years old when Deadpool & Wolverine was filmed. Of course she looks different - how many people look the same at 18 as they looked when they were 11? But yes, it is the same actress.
